Hi Ladies,
I am looking for ideas on how/what to use our stamps for OTHER than cards.
I've done candles, scrapbooks, pictures, stationary sets, gift card holders, journals, but I need some more ideas for a class that never fails to challenge me! Any ideas are helpful! Thanks so much!
Jodi
(I was thinking about stamping on a wall by my craft space before the next class)
They have these cute little chalk boards at Michaels and places like that that you could stamp on with paint and then they could use it as a message center at home. Just a thought.

Again with target LOL I just got a magnetic picture frame with four magnects for $1! I have seen this decorated with paper and the magnets redone with stamps! can't wait to do mine! theres also Mailboxes and Altoid tins and paint cans! (love the shrinky dink idea! I just got some of the shrinky paper at Micheals! cant wait to use it!!!!)
You can stamp on fabric picture frames......I showed some in my gallery last year. Don't forget wrapping paper. You can also stamp on adding machine tape and wrap it around for a 'ribbon'. Bookmarks, door hangers, create custom napkins, stamp on styrofoam cups for parties, crepe paper streamers to customize them for parties, etc.

OK, probably not a lot of Blood Bankers out there- but I take my rollers to work and roll out seasonal paper bags for sending units of blood to the floors. Could be adjusted to your job??!
At a recent SU get-together, we made gift card holders from CD cases (couldn't be slim kind) and they were SO popular. I took the idea back to my friends, and they were absolutely hooked. We used Holiday Thyme double-sided paper, but I have since coordinated different papers together and even mono'd together two thinner 12 x 12 papers to make my own double-sided. The inside has the holder for the gift card on the left -- a little pocket -- and a saying on the right side. I'm pretty sure the demo who instructed got it here at SCS. It might not look that enticing until you make one for yourself. Some things are that way!
Magnets from the flat glass marbles they sell to go in vases. Stamp and image and mod podge onto the marbles then glue the magnets on. I made them for my neighbor gifts at Christmas and they were a big hit.
I make wooden ornaments with my more open images....so much fun to paint, and you can give ornaments year around....just use them as tags on packages, or stick shish-ka-bob sticks in the bottom and use as a plant pick! Use thinner wood, and make stamped pins...or use shrinky dink plastic. I also get wooden boxes at the dollar store and seal them (watered down off white acrylics or pickling gel). The finished product looks so professional, email me and I will send you a scan.
I also love making magnet cards. You just seal your cut out image in laminate, and put a magnet on the back, and a magnet on the card to stick it to. I have one in my gallery (the gardening angel). I also stamp images, cut, color and seal in laminate to use on cakes or cupcakes.
Stamping on Fabric is also fun, but you need to make sure you have a nice smooth even weave fabric, and a deep etch open design stamp works best. I stamped little ladybugs on a pair of white canvas keds for my little girl to match a dress she had that turned out adorable... We made our own stamps to match the whimsical roses and bumble bees on my girls comforters out of craft foam, painted them with matching colored acrylic paints and we stamped a cool border. It looked stenciled.
If those ideas do not get you going, check out this site I got in my mail box today from Oriental Trading Co. They are coming out with a new Scrapbook magazine. http://www.orientaltrading.com/appli...pressions%20LP
It appears they may have the mailboxes, and mini lunch boxes that us Canadians are looking for (check out half way down the page). If you click on the link that says "pick and click" by that mailbox it takes you to a huge page of cool valentines projects w/instructions.... *sigh*.... soo many projects so few hours in a day!!
Hugs and thanks to everyone to posted these amazing ideas! Wow! I can't wait to get my hands on my stamps and try some new stuff! My group is going to be SO happy!
Thanks!
