Hi everyone!
Nothing like waiting until the last minute, right? I will be in Ohio, the Youngstown/Warren area) next week (July 12th to the July 18th). Are there any must see stores in the area for rubber stamping and scrapbooking? We have a Hobby Lobby, JoAnn's, and Mike's where I live. Other chains would be good, but especially those small stores. Western PA that is near this part of Ohio would also be do-able! I am leaving tomorrow morning from Florida to make this trip. Don't think I'll have internet access for the week I am in Ohio so any answers I get before morning would be helpful. Of course, DH thinks it would be more helpful to not get responses...LOL!!
Thanks to all!
If you can take a few hours and hop over to Akron, Archivers is the BEST! It's about an hour straight over I-76 and totally worth it! Also Pat Catans (a local chain) is good and I believe there are some where you'll be. On a non-stamping note, Mill Creek Park in Youngstown is gorgeous this time of year if you have time. Check out Fellows Riverside Gardens in the park. Have fun!

I just got home from Ohio and went to an awesome paper store called Hollo's. My MIL drove us there, so I can't tell you where it is, but they live outside of Akron, so it is somewhere around there. They do have a website so you could seach for them and see if it is anywhere near where you are going. They carry 80 lb, 100 lb and 120 lb card stock. It costs $1.25 a pound, so you can get between 35 and 45 sheets for $1.25! The colors are good, too. Envelopes were between 2 and 10 cents each. I ended up having to ship my purchases home (no room in my suitcase!) and it still ended up being cheaper overall than SU.

I remember now that there is a Pat Catans on "the strip" over by the mall we went to when I was up there. I believe that was where I first became acquainted with Yankee candles! Wasn't into stamping back then, so I will definitely check that out!
I will be passing through Akron on my way. Will be too late at night on my way in, but can check Archiver's out on my way home! I've always wanted to get into an Archiver's!!
I remember going to Mill Creek Park, too when I was a kid. We went a couple of times on field trips back in elementary school. Don't remember much detail but may be nice diversion! Thanks for the tips.

This sounds awesome, too!!! Googled them and got a map and directions! Between this place and Archivers, I may have to have a mid-week field trip! Thanks so much, ladies!!
Well, I know this thread is a little old... too late for the person who was traveling through the area, but since stores in Akron get mentioned so often, I'm thinking no one knows about the best little stamp store in Northeast Ohio in Smithville? Now, I am a little biased but it's well worth the trip! www.stampingattoyrifix.blogspot.com

Thanks, Tammy! It's too late for this year, but I plan to go back up next summer, too!! Daddy has plenty of work that needs to be done up there! I didn't make it to the Akron stores or to the paper store (which also looks awesome), but I did make it to Pat Catan's. I want to adjust my travel schedule so I can hit these others on my way up. I come up 77 to Akron anyway before heading east on 76/80. Thanks so much for letting me in on this "secret"!! Looks like a great place to be!!
