Well after much thought, and seeing and playing with the new Caddy for SU! pads from SU! I have decided I don't like it very much and would like to get a wooden one that has a nice smooth turnabout....so this is my question.....
Who has a storage system they LOVE?
I would love feedback on websites that you have ordered from?
Thanks for the input! You all have always helped me out and love some help with this one....
I know there were several posts a week or two ago, and I looked thru them....and they were helpful...but just in case someone didn't post in that topic area, I wanted to ask the question again....

I'm pretty sure I posted last time, but in case you missed it....my husband makes wooden ink caddies. He designed it for my friend and demonstrator (Jan.stamp) with lots of input from her. They hold 72 ink pads, 48 markers/blender pens/watercolor brushes..., there are drawers on the bottom with a removable re-inker rack, pegs for wheels or ribbon, and lots of storage on top. It spins easily and is very durable. He's sold at least 10, mostly to local demonstrators and they are very pleased and thrilled with the quality. One DH of a demonstrator remarked that it was "excellent craftsmanship." They have remarked that the small difference in cost between these and SU's is WELL worth it. Please PM me if you are interested (I can email you a picture) or you may contact Jan.stamp or Jessica2872 for their opinions. HTH
I have bought two of the wooden ones made by a lady in Minnesota. I gave one to my daughter and I have one and both of us are very impressed with the workmanship and quality. It may be a little more than others but is a quality product. Her website is as follows: [email protected]
In fact I was just on there to get her address and noticed that she has a nice 12 x 12 paper holder. I should not have looked.
I purchased the INK-DEK 4/68 from Dek Development and love it! This is a very large unit...but it holds EVERYTHING!!! You can check it out at www.dekdevelopment.net. There are several different units to choose from.
As a side note...this unit has storage on each side for the following (from left to right), ink cartridge, cartridge refill, pad refill, pad and marker. Since SU is no longer selling a seperate refill for the cartridge, I've moved my small cartridges over to where the refill went and am storing my jumbo cartridges in the space on the left.
There are so many different units available to purchase. CHoose one that will fit your space and your checkbook!
I got mine on ebay and love it! One for pads, one for ribbon and one for wheels....not quite what you said you were looking for but just another option!
I am going to purchase the elite over at the http://www.stampinthings.com/ I like that it holds the bigger SU ink pads and the old style, plus it has a place for your makers and ink refills right next to the ink pad..
My husband also sells storage racks. Here is a picture of his latest. They hold 60 pads, re-inkers and markers and 32 wheels and multiple spools of ribbon. You can check his feedback on ebay - "luvshockey2" or PM me if you would like additional info or more pics. The ribbon holder in front is actually the lid to the storage rack, so the ribbon is tucked neatly away while not in use.
That holder looks pretty neat.. I have a pattern for one but it is 19 1/4 x 19 1/4 x 31" high... thought that was a bit to high for me so haven't made it yet. This one held 50 stamp pads, 50 pens 48 reinkers, 6 dowel ribbons 12 letter size paper shelves, 24 wheel holders adn mini shelving for handle and cartridges for the wheel. Was neat idea just to much work for me.. lol
I, too, am interested in a wooden storage unit; would you please email me a picture and the price?
Thank you!
Here are pictures of my two pieces. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them! Sue is amazing to work with! These two pieces and my Scrap 'n Cube are my ALL time favorite and best purchases ever made over the past 10 year of crafting! You will not be disappointed!

I really like stampinsue's organizers. If I ever got a bigger desk, those would be a serious consideration. However, I found I didn't want my inks on my desk. Hubby surprised me one weekend when I was away and made me a organizer to hang on the wall. It holds several SU stamp sets and about 40 stamp pads. All my excess stamp pads, refills, sponges etc. are in a plastic drawer.
As crazy as it sounds, I don't have a lot of "colored" stamp pads...I am primarily a "basic black" girl so although these are all very cool, I would buy something on a less grand scale for myself. Right now my stamp pads are just thrown in a Sterlite drawer, but I did find this seller on ETSY that I thought would work for me. Just thought I would throw the option out there for someone else that may not need all the "bells and whistles".

These are the same ones that I have. I really like them too.
I also don't have a lot of flat surface space to store a caddy. I prefer a wall mount storage too.. so I opted with my almost free Napa Valley cassette holders. It cost $5 at a garage sale. It holds all of my ink pads nicely (except for Colorbox chalk inks which are odd sizes). It can be painted to match any decor, and the price was certainly right! Now if I could only find a wall storage to keep my Copics vertical and available I'd be a really happy camper!
I made my own because i couldn't find one that would fit for the space I have. I took the measurements to my local acrylic supplier and had them cut the pieces and then I glued them together. I have 2 racks and each one cost around $15. It's super easy to do and after several years they are still holding up.

that is beautiful! You should take a picture of that dyzntec (sp?) acrylic organizer we used to be able to buy to them. If they could make something like that they'd probably make a bundle, I could use at least 6 of them myself!
These PortaInk ones are what I use. I have three of them, and could use another. I love the fact that they sit up against the wall, and don't take up a lot of surface area. They can also be hung up on the wall. They come with a shoulder strap and bars that can be placed across the front of the case, so the pads don't fall out. And they fit all kinds of pads. I got them a while ago, but you can find them here...

I also have a DEK storage system. I got the 4/68 and had it customized to hold 120 inkpads (along with all the other goodies.) I LOVE IT! I have everything at my fingertips.

You are so right aobut the dyzntec .. probably couldn't match the price in today's market.
I would love to see a picture of your husbands stamp storage units. I really am having a difficult time finding one that holds reinkers, and markers as well as stamp pads. Thanks.

Thanks for sharing this site. I love the rack for punches and wheels. I see more money being spent : )
