A Necessity
I bought one early on and have used it a number of times. I also have extra sheets for when I have a number of images (Cold Play comes to mind), though I have used Window Sheets in a pinch.
oh yeah, texasjodylynn sent me a package of refill sheets (isn't she sweet) and I have a bunch of images that I keep on there all the time. A lot of my most used phrases are stamped on there so that they are ready. I use basic black (and sometimes I'll stamp something else in the same spot in a lighter color so I can double up on space) and have never had any trouble getting it off of there. I have used stazon remover, but regular stampin mist takes care of it!
I use my Stampamajig to help fix boo-boo's and save the whole card. If I stamp my inside message without inking my stamp properly and only part of the message appears, I can use it to perfectly line up an overstamp without anyone knowing!
Ditto on have it, love, it, can't stamp without it! I did a stamp camp in November, and used it along with Trim the Tree, and everyone that attended ordered one that night! My upline decided to do the same thing since it was so popular with my ladies, only she bought about 10 of them in advance, so her stamp campers could take them home immediately, and she sold them all! Definetely a MUST HAVE!!! And I do the same thing, only I stamp on acetate sheets with Staz-on and then store the pieces in the box with the stamps... and I do it with masking, too!
Love it - it's really great for shadow stamping - especially with text stamps. I stamp my phrase in a dark color, then using my stamp-a-ma-jig I move it very very slightly down and sideways and then stamp in a lighter color. This looks awesome and it's super easy with the stamp-a-ma-jig.
I don't know if you are a scrapper, but I actually bought it to do my stamped headings on my pages - I hated trying to line up letters and was always screwing up! This is awesome for scrappers to!

Where do you get replacement sheets for this? I heard of using acetate, but does anyone know where you can get the real thick heavy duty sheets like the one that comes with the stamp a majig? Thanks so much

I've seen the extra sheets at www.addictedtorubberstamps.com and search on "Stamp-a-ma-jig". They sell sets of 3 for $2.29. Maybe you can get better prices elsewhere...
Edited to add: Just found them at www.createforless.com. You can buy the sets of 3 for $.74 but you have to buy 6 pkgs.

Stampin Up sells refills of the imaging sheet 3 for 2.50, item #103953.
This is weird 'cause I swear I was just looking at this in the catalog b4 I logged on. I have one and I haven't used it since I first started stamping. I'm not that touchy about things being lined up perfect. I have to admit though, I should use it more often. I'm gonna go find it right after I log off.
I don't know if I'd go as far as "a can't live without item" but it is pretty handy. Splurge & treat yourself.

Hi I am an SU demo. I had not bought this product because I am very good at eyeballing cards. Well I earned it free through their great rewards program, and I LOVE IT!

I permanently stamped my Alphabits on an extra imaging sheet with Staz-on. It makes it possible to quickly stamp any of the letters from the set onto a scrapbook page or card.
I don't use my SAMJ every day, but, man when you need it, you need it.
I just finished several Christmas cards where I used Trim the Tree WOW what a help it was. I bought one and had never used it... until tonight. It was very easy to Trim that Tree using it. I stamped with stazon on transparencies to keep it with the stamp set--- for the next time I use it!
ok. I have had another brand of stamp oositioner for 15 years and I NEVER use it. Don't see myself using it but I will get it out and try it for my swaps and see if I can get in the habit.
I use mine all the time. For me it was a must-have when stamping Trim the Tree. Also with Heartfelt Thanks. Thanks, ladies, for the tips about stamping on vellum and acetate and keeping them with the stamps. I've left some on the sheet that comes with the positioner but had to remove when it got full - never thought about doing it permanently on another sheet.
I use mine every time I stamp! It's AWESOME!! You can buy extra sheets in the SU! catalog but I got mine at my local AC Moore for 99cents for 3. GREAT deal and I love having extras on hand! For my alphabet sets I cut small squares out of vellum and stamped a different letter in each corner and store those in the box so I always have those ready to go.

Man, Heidi, what a fabulous idea! I seldom use my Alphabits, but this will make these tiny letters much more usable! I going to make my stamp-a-ma-jig templates right now!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
I should have mentioned that I used only one sheet and just put each alphabit stamp on one corner.

I'm confused. I thought that these sheets were wipe off so each time you had to restamp the image. You said you permanently stamped your alphabet? Did you cut the sheet up and stamp each letter individually?
I love mine - it's a great tool. I recently used mine for a faux postage card, where I wanted only a portion of a stamp to show in the postage. I could not have done it without the stampamajig and have it look good.

I took one imaging sheet and stamped one of the four stamps in each of the four corners. I used Staz-On so it won't rub off accidentally, and so I don't have to restamp it everytime I use it. When I want to write a word, I just use a marker to color the letter I need and use the SAMJ to place it where I want.
The one thing I found out the hard way is to make sure you clean the stamp really well (like with baby wipes in addition to the Stamp 'n Scrub) before changing letters. HTH
Oh my gosh, that's ingenious Heidi! I love it! I never use my alphabits, but now I totally get how you do it and it sounds so easy!@!!!!!! Thank you!
Oh and I tried the vellum technique to making permanent ones to keep with sets...hated it. The vellum is to flimy, IMO. I guess if you used vellum cs instead it would work better.

IMO, it's worth the cost to buy the imaging sheets. They're not that expensive and they are so nice and stiff. There are not so many sets I would like to use permanantly, so it's not that much of an investment. I do think CS vellum would be OK, but it's still flimsy.
Yep, I agree. I'll get more sheets before I would use the vellum. They aren't that expensive and you can wipe them off....it's not like it takes long to stamp something on it!
I got trim the tree to do my Christmas cards with, and after screwing up a bunch of images lol, got a stamp-a-ma-jig and loved it!!! I use it all the time now!
I got mine last month and I really don't know how I've stamped so long without it! At first I didn't want to take the time to stamp on the imaging sheet and then stamp on my project, but then I realized that as many times as I was messing up and having to re-stamp before I used the stamp-a-ma-jig, the little thing was actually SAVING me a bunch of time -- haha!
