Hi,

( maybe Mexican or sushi places too??)
tia,
There's a new tram now that you can ride from the bottom to the top of OHSU. It's a great view. You gotta do it b/c it went millions over budget and we've got to pay it off by sending tourists there to pay the $4.00 to ride it! (ok, a bit of resentment there)

Tons of great restaurants. Depends on what type of food you want. You can pm me if you'd like and I can send you some recommendations. I'm a chef, so I pretty much know a bunch of great restaurants. (tell me type of food and how much you want to spend - expensive, moderate, inexpensive!)
Have FUN!!!
Wow, how bazaar is this...I was just going to post this exact question for the same location. Going to be there in a few weeks and even used to live there way back when...but there was no stamping involved at the time. I will be on the east side however, so I will be watching this thread!
Terri, my Dr appointment is on Oct. 12th...
( that weekend??)
wouldn't that be something?
Shelia,
TY!! I will plug all the addresses in and see what happens with that... I'm probably going to end up sending you a PM soon I need to think about exactly what i want to ask...
The Art House is great - unfortunately I got an e-mail from them and they are closing by Oct 25. The entire store inventory is 25% off. There is also the Peddler's Pack in Beaverton and Scrap Attack in Beaverton
There are some great restaurants in Portland. Bush Gardens has great sushi, it is in downtown

okay ladies,
the first trip up we did not have time to hunt these down.
the next trip up I will have maybe an hour and a half one night to go to one store on the list. ( the night before surgery assuming they all close about 6 ish??)
if you had to pick them one at a time which one would you visit first?
Hmmm none of them are super close to OHSU unfortunately. Paper Zone is kind of more in the region of going to OSHU when I go from my side of the city. Stamp a dee do dah is decent and Peddler Pack is nice as well although they might be harder to find and the parking around that area kind of sucks. Stamp-a-dee-do-dah also is close to my favorite sushi place a small home owned joint called Sushi Kata they have awesome bento boxes as well. The owner from Scattered Pictures is really nice although I have to admit the store is more scrapbooking oriented.
There is also First Impression at NE 4803 Fremont.
Both First Impression and The Art House are closed now (boo hoo, I live within 2 miles from each of them and have been going thru withdrawl!). Scattered Pictures is a great place too though. And it's still open!
this is an off topic question...
( i was wondering if any of you are su demo's that have your territory go into Albany?) a good online friend of mine lives there and i told her to peek at the su web site to get a local consultant ( to buy glossy cardstock ) and the gal she contacted has never gotten back to her...
So, I'm probably gonna mail her some from my stash ( we've been friends for years) but, I was really surprised by this when she told me.. ( I have a super demo and am spoiled by this)
so, if someone knows a GOOD su demo that will go to Albany can you pm me her contact info so i can pass it along?
thanks again!
I've got a map printed out from PeddlersPacks site ( not sure how far away 217 is from I-5) so, this my be January before i actually make it into a store but, one lady sent me an pm about there is a craft warehouse up there somewhere too.... ( I've been in the ones in Medford and New Port and always spent too much money) ( Wish that store had coupons)
Peddlers Pack is great and so is the Craft Warehouse! Not too bad to get there from Downtown, but if you only have an hour and 1/2, probably not the best idea. Especially around rush hour. By the time you drive there, park, shop, you would have to leave? PP closes at 7pm (mon-thur) and 6pm (Fri-Sat). Craft Warehouse closes around 8?
Craft Warehouse is off the 26th (on 185th) and Peddlers Pack is downtown Beaverton off of 217 - each will take you about 25 minutes from downtown. Going from one to the other will take about 15 minutes.
Hope this helps! PM me if you have any questions -I live in Beaverton! Hugs,
Art House is gone, too??? You're kidding me!! I love that place! Gosh...it always seemed so busy when I would go there!
The owner decided to retire. Instead of trying to sell it she opted to close. Last week was the final one.
There is also a cute little place on NE 14th and Alberta called Collage. They don't have a lot of stamps, but do have a nice sellection of art supplies, ink pads, individual Adirondak alcohol inks, and embellishments, etc.
Since you are coming from Southern Oregon, you might plan to stop at the new Michael's at Salem -Keizer - it's visible from I-5 at north end of Salem. Salem also has an excellent Craft Warehouse (much bigger than the Newport one) - its on the south end of Lancaster in Salem.
There are also new Joann's Superstores at Eastport Plaza (SE 82nd & Holgate) and at Tigard on the main highway which would be fairly close to OHSU.
