SORRY

Hi everyone !

I posted my very first card on SCS yesterday, but did not know that we are not supposed to post on Sundays.

I got this message to tell me :

"Also, since you didn't do this as a VSN entry, you shouldn't upload on Sundays, at all. Since you're a newbie, we'll let you get away with it without a public flaming in the forums. Just a gentle carpeting and a big congratulations on your first upload. "

So, sorry ladies, I won't do it again.... :(
But if someone could explain what a VSN is.... that would help....

but I'll post more cards .... ;) ;) well... I already have...

Thanks for all the nice praises on my cards !

VSN is Virtual Stamp Night - this is where you can partake in stamping challenges with other stamping addicted people, and post your creations in the gallery. It is lots of fun. If you scrapbook, there is also a VSBN, Virtual Scrap Book Night.

Have fun!

Hi, there! Please, accept our apologies for that message. Here's the word from The Man on No Load Sundays:
Quote:

one last word on this, no load sundays were always designed as an "official suggestion" rather than a rule. rules like that would create too much complication and confusion, and I hate rules anyway.

think of it as an attempt to create a community tradition - that sunday would be used as not only a day off for the gallery mods, but also a day to appreciate the stuff that's already there instead of fixating on just the new stuff.

so we've never restricted uploads on sundays, and that was never the intention. if you can't help yourself and you just have to upload something, then do what you must. if you don't know about the tradition nobody's gonna freak on you. but by saying "wouldn't it be a good idea if..." then if people agree, they can embrace the idea and get behind it. and for the most part, they have. but I love it when these things are community driven, rather than decrees from on high.
VSN & VSBN weekends are the exception to No Load Sundays, and we have the gallery open for uploading until the deadline for the contests pass.

Thank you for sharing your work in the gallery!

Was that sent in a private message? If so, I think it's very rude, and not welcoming to our site.

I, personally, who have been here some time now, have uploaded on Sunday on occasion. Why?? Because I'm living in Israel and we have the Sabbath on Saturday, so Sunday feels to me like Monday, and I forget that it's Sunday in the US.

I hope whoever sent you that message apologizes. Not nice.

Your work is beautiful! Thank you for sharing it with us all!

Please take note of what Jenn said The Big Guy says:

It is merely a lovely community tradition here at SCS so we can enjoy what has already been uploaded and probably overlooked due to a fixation on what is new.

It also gives the gallery moderaters a much needed reprieve from approving hundreds of photos on a daily basis, which requires hours and hours of volunteer time.

You have nothing to apologize for! I look forward to seeing more of you work!

Hi again and THANK YOU for your nice welcome....

I did not want to cause trouble by posting that, just wanted to say sorry for not reading the TOUs before posting and wanted to find out about the VSN thingy (which, by the way, sounds very interesting.... if it's not in the middle of the night for me LOL)

Your girls are amazing !! Thanks again for all the lovely words about my cards.

Charmed, I'll contact you ;) ;)

bye for now !

Serious envy. I wanna move to England. How do you like London? I am always so intrigued by every thing British, even tho I've never been.

As a foreigner who got to visit there in 2004 with DH and kids, it was fabulous!! Everything you dream about, and you couldn't find a more pleasant group of drivers anywhere, even if they do drive on the wrong side of the road. ;)

I love london so far! Have only been here for 2 months now, but it really is beautiful and amazing!

Once we get our server up and running, I will have my photo gallery back on-line, and you can see pictures of England if you like.

It really is amazing - nothing quite like london, and england in general.

If any of you are ever in the area, you are always welcome to stop by and play with my stamps and stuff!

Well, now you know. Keri has exposed me.

England just seems so charming and quaint, in a way that America just isn't. Of course, I've never been to the Eastern side of the country, so perhaps it is just the limited view I have living here in the Pacific Northwest. Everything just seems so borishly "modern", for lack of a better description.

Of course, perhaps I have an over exaggerated romantic notion of England overall, but, *everyone* I know who has ever been, is absolutely enchanted . . .

While I am sure you would find the quaintness you think of England with, I do not think it could ever be half as romantic as you have dreamt it to be!!! hahahahah...however I have a friend with a cottage in Royal Tunbridge Wells and let me tell you......it is simply adoreable and the lane beyond his house DEFINITELY is charming and romantic.....if only I could see it in person....pics don't do it justice I am sure!

Hey, I live 20 mn from Tunbridge Wells.
England is very pretty, and charming.
When I went to the US 18 months ago, although I LOVED IT there, I found that it lacked.. hmm, how can I say....historical side of things... you know, the old houses, little lanes ... all the stuff you find charming in England (and France too).
So I can understand why you love England for that.
That's what I love about England actually.... but unfortunately, England is not only the charming place.... there are drawbacks, like every where in the world....

SURE !! that would be fun !
so when are you coming over here then ?

And that's where you will realise one of the drawbacks here compared to the US.
Our house would probably fit in your garage LOLOL.
I sooooo envy your big houses over there !

Well, off to dream about a big house as it's bed time here !
Nite, nite girls ! and thanks again for your warm welcome !

I too think England is charming and just sooooooooo fabulous! Something about the way the English speak intrigues me as well - like saying Univeristy instead of the cumbersome 'THE' we would put in front of it here. Welcome to our site and now I must go look at your gallery.

Funny enough, a few months ago, I would have said David who ??? (I'm French remember and he's not famous in France).
But since xmas, he's the main actor in a HUGELY FAMOUS TV series here in England (Doctor Who) which we always watch. So now I know who you mean....

JUlie HRR, if you walk by, knock on the door ! ;)

Will you allow me to drag you on a tour of Jane Austen's home?

And, are you willing to engage in numerous discussions regarding the perfection of Mr. Darcy?

;)

You are doomed, you know, if you do get that movie for Mother's Day . . .

England was so beautiful. My husband and I were there in December. I must say London was too busy for me but we were in the tourist part of London. Seen all the castles, cathedrals etc. I would have loved to get out of the tourist trap and seen the rest of London as I'm sure it was wonderful. We did go out of London to Bath. The country side was amazing. I would love to go back any time. We also toured Belguim and Holland. Oh, now I really do want to go back. You girls should have never started this.....
By the way - Welcome Mum2JAM - must take a peek at your gallery..

By the way - Welcome Mum2JAM - must take a peek at your gallery..
Thanks

I'm trying to look at everyone's gallery too .... but that's gonna be hard ! ;)

I try to make sbk layouts about the british gardens, known here as National Trust (whenever I get the time). We love having walks in there as often as possible and my DH takes the most amazing pictures.

That is something I would definitely miss if we moved out of England again.

My DD wants to go as her graduation gift, 2 years from now . . .she'd prolly kill me if I went prior to that without her . . .

Aha! *light bulb moment* Now that line from "Happiness is a Warm Gun" makes a *little* more sense than it did. I thought the National Trust was a bank, and couldn't figure out why a bank would accept a donation of a soap impression of someone's wife. Not that it makes much more sense for a garden to want one.....

I've been to the Buchart Gardens in Victoria, BC--just beautiful!!!! (my honeymoon over 20 years ago . . . I should go back!)

I wonder if it is modeled after your gardens there?

Yes, you should go again. Some of the garden layouts are English, some Italian, some Japanese.

You can do that with your web browser's bookmarks or favorite sites.
