I was part of a Disney recipe swap and I used clipart that I got from other websites... And I was thinking I could use the clipart as long as what I was using it for wasn't sold...
Wow, I am a little surprised, too. It looks terrific and I would never had sold it if I had been a participant in such an awesome swap! Hopefully she received it as a gift and wasn't one of the swappers!

Can I play devil's advocate for a minute? I have sold swaps in the past.
After about a year of very frequent swapping, I was left with hundreds of swaps. I spent a weekend turning them all into full cards, but wasn't sure what to do with them after that. I ended up selling them in 2 big lots to 2 of my friends.
Yes, I could have donated them, but I spent a lot of money and time on those. Is it so wrong to try to recoup some of that investment? After all, they weren't gifts, I traded for them, right?

I totally agree with you Krystie... I recently packaged up all of my swaps and sold them to my mom for a ministry at her church. She will put them on full card fronts, package them with an envelope and raise money for a mission ministry that they support.
I sold them for peanuts, truly not even recouping the postage that it cost me to trade for them, not to mention the supplies or the cost of sets I ordered for that single purpose. . Why did I do it:
1) These swap cards that I traded for were gorgeous....beautiful quality work, and while I'm not using them as demo samples anymore. I couldn't stand to chunk them or let them sit here until they were out of style.
2) I like to give and send cards that I make personally, so personal use wasn't really an option.
3) it's a ministry I believe in...so I'm cool with that.
Just for the record, Ms. Krystie - I still have my swap from you in my favorite little bin... ;)

Hi Lori!
How sweet are you??? That totally made my day!!! I still have your card (near & far star one), too! I have a tiny box of faves and it's in there!
The friends that I sold them to were THRILLED to receive them. They used them for inspiration for their own cards, and bundled them in sets for Christmas gifts. I'd be happy to know that my swap cards "lived on" for more people to enjoy, whether it was by gift or by sale.
i once auctioned a swap... i had joined a recipe swap and took two spots. i thought i'd give one away as a gift, but instead auctioned it at a silent auction charity function [for my 3-day walk]. it was one of the most active items!

I clear through all my swaps twice a year: once during the summer and I sell those at a garage sale (2 for a dollar); and once at Christmas when I make them into full cards and give them to my sisters and mom as part of their Christmas gifts (they love them!).
I keep swaps for inspiration that I'm in love with, even if they use retired sets. But like Lori, the cards I send I like to make myself, so after awhile I need some way to clear out my stash.
That being said.....I would never sell someone else's work on ebay.....and it does seem a little tacky to sell an entire swap group.....but...who am I to judge!

I agree with you Krystie. If I did the work on one of those pages for all the others and got the same number back, it is basically doing that number of pages for a book, card swap, whatever. When I get mine back, they are mine and I can do what I like with them. If I choose to sell them, and someone else doesn't like it because it was so cute, then they can chalk it up to my loss. Personally, if someone got something in a swap from me and thought it was good enough to sell in her name, I would be flattered!
I guess I don't really see the problem either.....like the other ladies said, if she was the swapper she participated in the swap to and all disney pages are hers to do with what she wanted. I am sure there are people who might do other things to swaps that we all participate in, they just don't post it on ebay for the whole world to see......what I am trying to say is that if she had them they are hers to do with what she wants! We don't know her circumstances behind selling them, like 7kidscollegefund said....maybe she needed the money for something important, I centainly am not judge and jury!

okay~one more thing...I am beginning to wonder if the reason why this is so hard for NancyLuvsMickey is only because it was something disney.....take a look at her gallery...awesome but full of disney everything! I think it is a little piece of her heart that might be feeling like got sold on ebay, I know I would have a hard time with that!
