I bought some coasters to stamp on, but I'm not sure how to do this.
I want to stamp some "French Script" and then I want to stamp a butterfly image on top of that. Do I stamp the butterfly image right over the French Script and then color it? Will it look ok if the script shows on the butterfly. I have seen this done in the gallery, and I can't figure out how they did it.
stamp your butterfly on a piece of printer paper, cut it out with scissors right on the lines, then lay it on top of the butterfly you stamped on your coaster while you stamp the script BG :-D
I stamped and colored my image with Stazon Ink, baked the coasters for 20 minutes @ 350, let them cool. Then here's where the problem came in. I sprayed them with Krylon Matt Finish, and the ink smeared! What did I do wrong.
How did you spray them? The best way I have done this is to put the item to be sprayed in a box, then hold the can of spray several inches above the object, then spray it into the air over the object, then the aerosol kind of "drifts" down on the object. If you aim the aerosol several inches away and spray, it will smear. Let the firsrt coat dry, then do it again, repeating until you have the coverage you want. Make sure you have good ventilation.
You can also sprinkle some clear embossing powder on the coaster before you bake, it will give a clear coating on the coasteras it heats in the oven.

Stamp your image on a post it note, up to the edge where it's sticky then trim and you'll have a 'sticky' mask to lay down on top of the butterfly and it won't scoot around on you! Then "over stamp" with your script stamp (stamping on top of the paper and all) and when you remove your 'mask' it will look like the background stamp is behind the image! Too cool.
((You can also use a few drops of Mono Multi in the green bottle and let the glue dry and it will be repositionable, or there is a glue stick that will make paper repositionable too!))
