and I got a lot of information from a very helpful consultant in my area. But know one seems to be able to answer this one question I have.
How many CTMH reps are there in Canada? Also in Calgary??
I just wanted to make sure the market isn't saturated. This is the main reason I don't want to join SU! I love the product, but I already know at least 4 reps in my area.
Does anyone have an idea about these numbers? Or where I can go to find out? I tried calling the main referral line, but they were unable to help.
TIA

Unfortunately, there is NO WAY for you to find out. When I was a CTMH rep I called Home Office and asked and they wouldn't tell me. The company is great but this is one of my huge pet peeves about it because I think people should know.
Good luck - your best bet is to find someone who is a rep and have them post a question on a message board and find out that way. I think the locator only shows ones that meet a certain quota but won't give you all the ones in your area.
You are only on the consultant locator with CTMH if you have their website so there is no way to know for sure. BTW, CTMH's home office isn't that great. That is the reason I resigned.
To be on the CTMH locater, you need to be a supervisor or above and have a certain amount in the previous quarter. You do not need to have their website service.
I would suggest that you sign with the company whose product you love the most, regardless of how many reps are in your area. If you love the product, and provide great service, it will show and you will succeed regardless of how many reps are around. Your target audience to start with is your family and friends anyway.
Direct Sales companies often don't tell people that information because they don't want anyone to run the other way when they hear the number! They usually don't even give it out to current consultants. Besides, that number can be misleading. Suppose there are 10 consultants in your town. Only two of them do more than the minimum, but you don't know that. You think, "Ten! That is too many!" So you don't sign up. But then you miss out because only two of them actually have any customers. KWIM?
Well then that has changed because when I was a rep, you couldn't be on the locator without a website. Frankly having to be a supervisor to be one it is worse.
I don't know if maybe the locator is different in Canada, but the lady I was talking to isn't a supervisor, but she does have a website.
I do really like the product, they carry some really unique stuff, and the terms seem reasonable.
Funny though, because I'm a rep currently with Epicure Selections, and we have no problem telling people how many reps we have. Maybe because we don't have as many as some other companies, who knows?

No really I don't think it is because they don't have as much as other companies. They want the consultant to join whether there are a lot of consultants or not. They should be honest. Creative Memories lists in their consultant magazine how many consultants there are. It shouldn't be hidden.

I agree. I think a lot of the companies they should put together a family tree type of thing to show togetherness/sisterhood so you know you are joining a family - LOL.
ETA: I went on too much and I am in a bad mood today so I didn't think what I said previously was appropriate, LOL I think I am totally PMS or PMDD today!! So I changed my post to a much nicer one. :-)

Sure, they will tell you how many consultants there are company wide, they just *generally* won't tell you how many are in your area.
Like I know there are "only 35,000 DT reps" and to put that in perspective they tell us there are 35,000 Mary Kay ladies in Houston ( ? ), TX alone. Could I find out how many Educational Consultants are in northern VT though? No. All I could find out was that there is not one single manager in the whole state of VT. Since joining I've run into several "friends and family", or hobby, demos just in my day-to-day activities.
Yes I agree. All companies should do that. I am joining SU in March, I know how many consultants are in my area, 4 right in my own town, but I am joining to be a hobbiest, so I am not too concerned. The way to build their consultant list is not to tell how many consultants are in an area that would chase prospective consultants away.
