Default So, I see some of you buy on Etsy, but...

how many of you sell on Etsy? I am toying with selling some things on there, but want to hear more about it first. Tell me everything - the good, the bad, and the ugly!

I have a friend who didn't have much luck selling cards on there, and hers are really great...I think (generally) people who buy on there are looking for other types of handmade things (what, you ask? dunno...)...worth a try tho!!!

I'd love to start selling handmade things on Etsy, but I have to find the time to make some stuff first. ;) (unless they sell time on there...)

I tried them last year and didn't sell anything. The same cards sold right away on ebay. I didn't have good luck with them.

My girlfriend Shannon has a wonderful shop there for jewelry... and she does ok... she says she sells more when she adds more... you want to add a couple things every couple of days to keep yourself at the TOP of the shopping lists I guess.

Also... there are forums there... and a lot of the artists buy from each other... so it pays to be active on the forums.

I also help Shannon a lot buy posting stuff for her on my blog... she doesn't have a blog... but etsy has cool tools like sidebar widgets for you blog to help you promote yourself. Like any internet shop you have to market your goods.

People say that if you have good tags (key words to help people find your listings) and a nice line of stuff you can do well!

I am going to start selling there this week... so I will let you know how it goes... there is definitely a lot to learn... currently I am just reading the forums and trying to figure stuff out so I don't look like an idiot when I open my shop!

Not sure I am understanding your question but you start your own shop then you can list your items under "Vintage" if you want or "Paper Goods". You can use different "tags" to cross sell...make sense?

Oh my... there are so many! Do some searches for "vintage cards" or "vintage paper" or "stamp".... it's amazing what people have made!

Then... what's cool is you can see what THOSE people have put into their "favorites" file... minutes will turn into hours.... and so on!

Have fun!

I have a shop on etsy, but it's for jewelry that I make with vintage pieces.

I have noticed that stationary that sells on there well is made digitally. While it's a place to sell handmade things, it's more artsy and modern than a lot of hand stamped cards look like.

To sell you set up an account and then from there you can set up a shop. The listing fee's are much better than ebay. I think it's a pretty "hip" place for art and hand made items.

I would look around a lot on etsy before you decide to try to sell handmade cards on there. Unless they are designer looking and not stamped looking then Im not sure it's the place.

I just LOVE ETSY!!! I really admire the handmade items Artist create! I bought something there last week--my 1st purchase! I will be back again!

Sometimes, you get tired of "Mass-Produced" items...it is quite refreshing to see One Of A Kind (OOAK) items
