Default Sizzix die

I have the Stampin Up leaves die from Sizzix and am having an issue with it. When I run it through my big shot it don't want to cut and ideas? I know the sandwich is correct but this one is not working correctly

Have you tried turning the die counterclockwise a quarter turn and running it trough again?

Also you can try 1 single layer of copy paper as a shim, you can try up to 3 pieces...Every machine can get a sweet spot on the drum and sometimes you need to move the die around or shim it...

If this does not work and the die has never cut for you, you may need to return it as defective...

If it doesn't cut anywhere on the die I would just return it. You shouldn't have to 'play' around with it.

I was having trouble with the new doily die. I tried shims, wax paper, turnig it, using various weights of paper until I decided 'no more fussing' since it was new. I should be getting a replacement soon.

I have this die and I had the same problem, I tried using it in both the Big Shot and red sizzix and I could not get it to cut all the way in some areas. The only way I can use this die is by using my little sizzix sidekick? Don't know why but it cuts perfectly in this machine and it is the only die that I have problems with.

I ended up permanently taping a square of cardstock the size of the die onto the back of my little leaves sizzlet, and now it cuts perfectly every time. It just needed a little extra thickness in my machine to cut all the way through.

Every machine tightness is different, so I agree with the poster who said try a piece of copy paper as a shim, and then something a little thicker, up to the thickness of cardstock. Whichever size shim works, just tape it to the back of the sizzlet, so you don't have to remember what thickness of shim works for each die.
