Simple (CAS) Favorites for Week Ending October 18, 2009
Welcome to the Clean and Simple (CAS) Favorites of the Week Thread! If you've never been here before, this weekly thread invites you to post links your favorite CAS cards from the past week (Sunday thru Saturday). Anyone can post links to CAS cards here, and remember there is another great weekly Favorites thread in the General Stamping Forum that is for sharing all styles of cards.
It was, as usual, a great week for CAS in the gallery. Here are my faves:
fionna51 made her very first PTI card and it's a stunning one!
stampinscotsgirl's OLC birthday card is a so pretty yet totally appropriate for a guy, too
whoistracy posted a holly candle that popped right out at me, and her Pinecone Sleigh card is totally fab with the torn paper and glittery snow
Hambo used the FTL63 challenge, beautifully colored leaves, and a lovely sentiment to make a Gratitude and Praise card
krystie lee posted so many totally fab CAS cards using A Muse this week that I couldn't pick a favorite of them...so the link is to her amazing gallery. You try to pick a favorite. I bet you can't either!
DawnL posted a gorgeously colored and designed In Our Thoughts card that uses Christmas colors and images very effectively
heather freeman posted a sweet and sparkly pink daisy card with Upsy Daisy that reminded me that it's Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Get 'em squished, girls. This has been a public service announcement.
girlgeek101 posted a totally rad and OLC Autumn Leaves card using three gold leaves and a single sheet of gawww-jus textured white paper that made my jaw drop in joy
TrishG brilliantly used silver cord and eyelets to accent her softly colored Noel pinecone Christmas card
lorettal blinged me out of my mind with her elegantly sparkly Tulip Blingfield card
Shannan went white and chocolate with her totally crisp and wonderful Hi There OLC...note the half-pearls and subtle scoring and tiny bit of twine? Deee-lish!
Gail MacFadden posted a bunch of fundraiser OLCs this week, but this iris one was my favorite...so soft and yet bold at the same time
biggan's use of encaustic wax (never even heard of it before!) totally blew me away like the autumn leaf she used on her Real Leaf card...great colors, texture, and simple design make this card SUPER!
jlazarski made a Blue Christmas card with the FTL63 that is simply gorgeous
mocjen posted an A Muse monogram card that is beautifully blue and perfectly designed
Kharmagirl posted a totally sweet and beautifully colored OLC Merry Christmas snowman that uses little little twinkles and fun black ribbon as ideal accents
lauraly used fun colors, embossing, and a button/ribbon accent for her festive Colorful Ornaments card
peebsmama used a fresh lime dp for her creative take on the FTL63
Angelnorth's Fall Branches card made me gasp with awe...the stitching is spectacular and made me wish I knew how to use a sewing machine!
Kristin Moore posted a Serene Snowflakes card with nontraditional colors and a crisp, clean look
katestamps716 made a stunning sleigh card with candy-cane stripe ribbon and a bit of textured cs
hskelly used reverse masking and silhouettes to beautiful effect on her Abundant Blessings card
flatfish pulled out an oldie but a goodie stamp for her beehive and pumpkin card...she's an urban bee keeper who sells stunningly delish honey!
JulieHRR posted this stunning turning leaves card as a sneak peek for the A Muse release
putri made a lovely, lightly distressed Peace OLC that totally grabbed my attention
tigerlily55 used thumping (this week's CAS challenge) very effectively and colorfully on her Circle Circus card
Both gems4donna and pinkhedgehog made similar, stunningly simple OLCs with Baroque Motifs that I plan on case-ing
rsalamon's thinking of you thumped card is very dramatic in color and so pretty in design!
LaLatty posted a fab Lovely as a Tree sympathy card with beautiful colors, piercing, and scallops
stamperjen0 used thumping and a non-traditional color choice for her beautifully simple Thanksgiving card with Trendy Trees
Kelly H made a mostly white, very textured and popped and lovely Christmas tree card
Please leave some love in the gallery as you are able. Plenty of my favorites have very few comments, and I know there are so many others I missed that deserve notice, too.
A final reminder: please, please, please use the CAS keyword when you upload a CAS card! It makes your CAS loveliness easier for others to find in the huge-mungus and totally rockin' SCS gallery!
WOW Susan, a wonderful list! You spent some time putting this together with your sweet comments added in!
Thanks so much for including me in your list, but I want to point out that mine was a TOTAL CASE by KKID!! I changed almost nothing so she deserves all the credit and comments. Here is the ORIGINAL!
Oops, I forgot to add that I had not much time at all just browsing the gallery this week due to preparing for a SAS that was a big success yesterday! I didn't add any favorites this week, but plan to scan all of yours!
Oops! Sorry I forgot to look to see who was logged in, and just commented under my husband's account. However, he is the one who colored in the leaves on my card that was mentioned, so he deserves credit too! LOL

Wow! I am truly honored to have been chosen to be on your list Trish. I haven't posted for a couple of years and pulled out several projects and posted them yesterday. What a surprise! Thank you Karen for letting me know!
I sure added a lot to my favorites folder this week... ;)
I'll try not to duplicate what's already been posted (I have many of them in my faves as well!) and see if I can include some that are not keyworded for CAS.
Wow! Thank you for listing my card! Have a great week. Heather

Susan, thanks so much for noticing my card! I just got in from helping a friend move today (real friends help friends move books!) and this was the perfect ending to a rather long and hard day!
I never got a chance to check this thread yesterday. Thanks so much, Dawn (stampinscotsgirl) and Sue (suen) for mentioning my thumped leaves card in your favorites! What a nice way to start Monday!
