Default Silhouette Cameo problems w/ foiled CS

I am trying to mass produce my Christmas card and my Silhouette Cameo is not cutting my Michaels Recollections foiled/aluminium 65lb; 8x11inch yardstick properly. I am trying to cut a frame to enclose a stamped image. My cutting frame design is grouped image of a a 3x4 rectangle enclosed by another 5x7 rectangle. I place the two grouped images on the cutting mat and attach a 8.5x 11 inch gold foiled card stock sheet of paper. The cameo cuts out the top frame without problems; however when the the blade advances to the lower half the page problems start. The machine balks, paper or mat seems to slide and I get an unrecognizable and crumpled cuts. With foiled CS, I use a blade setting of 7; force 32; 1 pass.

I use the same two images with regular card stock at the Silhouette recommended settings and get a perfect cut.

I have changed the blade and cutting mat for the foiled CS and the outcomes are still the same.

I guess, I could just cut the top half of the CS multiple times, but in the interest of time and efficiency, I would really like to cut the two images at once from the 8x11 sheet.

Feedback/suggestions would be much appreciated.

Could you just tape down the foiled cardstock?  I have to do that with glittered cardstock, because the back of it is slippery and smooth.

It might be a good idea to post this in the Silhouette sticky thread in the Tool & Products section. Lots of the ladies on there are very experienced with the machines, anmd should be able to help. X

I do a lot of work with glitter cardstock which might be similar to what you're using.  I've had the same problem when I have the glitter side up.  So what I always do now is put the glitter side down and tape to the mat with blue painters tape.  I have the blade on 6, force of 33 and do two passes.  It might be worth trying this with the cardstock you're using.
