I am assembling more parts of my Christmas cards and am starting to think of what I want to write other than our names to sign them!!! Cannot think of anything other than the normal Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Any ideas? How are you signing yours???
Since my stamped message inside usually says Merry Christmas and Happy New year, or something to that effect, I usually write Best Wishes or Holiday Cheers before signing our names. I like to keep it short and simple.
The outside of my card this year says "From our house to yours" and on the inside it
is stamped "Merry Christmas". So do not want to write Merry Christmas.
Like the "Holiday Cheers".
Same here! We usually just sign our names with a Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays type of greeting. If the card is going to people from my husband's work, then my hubby signs them Merry Christmas or Happy Holiday from 'The ------ Family' or Eric & family. (I didn't want to post my last name here).
I mostly send Christmas cards only to family and friends who live some distance away. I usually sign them something like: Wishing you all the best this holiday season and in the year ahead.
I am bad.....I ALWAYS stamp something on the inside of the card so that I don't have to write too much! LOL. I usually put Dec 2010 in the top right-hand corner, put the person/people's names on the top left and then just say "All the best in 2011" at the bottom and sign my name. Everybody gets the same sentiment from me!
You all do more than I do. I use my printer for the saying inside the card and put a scripture on the left. I just include a sig line as part of the saying and let the printer do all the work. I figure I have made the things, my hands have been all over them. So I don't actually sign them....
I like to look for some kind of poem or quote to use as the inside sentiment and then just sign our names. Here is the most recent one that I used:
What a glorious season is this time of Christmas.
Hearts are softened. Voices are raised in worship.
There is an aura of peace that comes into our homes.
There is a measure of love that is not felt to the same
extent at any other time of the year.

We send cards only to close friends and family so I usually put a personal note in each one and then sign. I really dislike getting Christmas cards from people I haven't seen for a long time and they just sign their names. So "do into others..."

I sign our first names and my dogs name. To family I put love you and to friends I just sign our names since I have a sentiment on the inside of the card.
I only send cards to family and close friends so I write a personalized poem or several line sentiment for each one on my computer. I type them on linen ( or resume) paper and attach them as a liner to my cards
I sign them appropriately such as Mother, Grandma or just Barbara depending on the recipient.

Wanda I so agree with you. I have an aunt that I don't see all year and each Christmas I get a card from her and all it says is "Love Janet"
Why bother!
My card to her has a letter in it telling her what the family has been up to all year. I love my aunt but I get so disappointed each Christmas at the lack of communication.:

But I LIKE getting those kinds of cards (where only the name is signed and no handwritten note)! I really do enjoy just looking at the card front. I always assume that they are sincere about the (already printed) message that's on the inside of the card, even if it's from someone whom I haven't seen in a long time.
I like getting any Christmas card. It's fun to read personal notes, but especially at that busy time of year, if they thought to send a card to me, it brings me joy.
