I have learned to make things when I cannot find the exact product I want.
I am wondering what others of you create!
I make my own Bronze EP by mixing 1/3 silver EP, 1/3 gold, and 1/3 copper and shaking well.
I make an ink I call Mango Magic by mixing Marigold and Only Orange or Summer Sun and Only Orange depending on the intensity you like and the putting it in a blank pad (Comotion from ATRS--not on website unless they have a sale but you can call and get them full price).
I buy only white Primas, Liquid Applique, hole reinforcers, and many, many other products and then dye them with reinkers.
I make my own puff dots by cutting up mounting tape found in the Hardware section of Walmart in rolls.
I make my own glue dots by slicing up a hot glue stick (like go in hot glue guns), laying on the card, heating with a heat gun and voila you have embellisment attachment that is very strong.
If I want colored Stickles, I squirt a little on a palette or plastic lid and color with a bit of reinker.
I make my own Radiant Pearls rip off (that dries Soooo much faster) by squirting Brilliance reinkers on a plastic lid and painting with them.
I make my own Magic Mesh with dry wall tape that I sprinkle with EP and emboss.
I make my own scubbie pads with paint trimmer pads from the paint dept. at Walmart or from the Dollar Store. I attach them to the top of my baby wipe box with velcro tape. I wash them every night and add a new set that I rotate through so they are always quite clean.
I would be interested to know other custom products that you make.
Oh yes very good idea and money saving to. i really like SU products, But sometimes I have to improvise. I have all kinds of recipes for stamp cleaner-to making paper.( tho I have not made paper yet!!!!).

Don't forget to save the rubber from your stamp trimming for mounting foam. You can do anything from raising up items to making shaker boxes and frames. You peal off the rubber (sometimes it won't) put some double tape on it, stick it down, then peal off the paper from the other side and stick that down!
Another one I forgot---cut a v in the side of an old credit card and you now have one of those new-fangled card edge distressers!
Isn't there a little blade in the edge distresser? I just tried the credit card and maybe I'm doing something wrong, but it didn't do much to the edge of my card stock. Any good tips on how to use this?
[quote=blizlady]Isn't there a little blade in the edge distresser? I just tried the credit card and maybe I'm doing something wrong, but it didn't do much Yes there is a blade. Several actually. It is a multi edged tool. Remember these are in fact ways to save money, however, they may not yield the same results as the tools they are intended to replace.
You may get a similar result if you use your bone folder, or just "work" the paper edge.
I use my scraps and do the faux suede technique so the paper is split and then use my flower punches (Daisy and teh Bouquet) to create my own primas in the 48 SU colors. Perfect match with no messy dyeing of the paper.

one of my downline does not do faux suede but she does wet them and shape them a bit and they add cool texture and are stiffer looking-they look almost like super thin clay (very cool!)

I have a hard time punching the split paper with that method. Is there a trick to it?
I have not had an issue-I do make sure the edges go beyond the width of the punch, but no problems for me. I did a bunch and posted them on another thread.
