Default Shaker card bits and pieces

Does anyone 'prep' the bits (sequins, glitter, etc) they put in? I made a Halloween themed shaker using the Lawn Fawn 'Ready, Set, Snow' stamp and dies and add-on dies. (The Halloween themed stamp were ones I already had) My acetate was attached to the snow globe stamp cut out. When I put the two parts-'glass globe' and back with the scene-together, I could hear the chunky glitter (Michael's Recollection brand) 'jump' onto the globe portion. It now almost covers the 'glass' and I can't get it to 'let go' so you can see the spooky scene. I was making 2 so I rubbed the 'globe' portion with a once used dryer sheet and it helped just a little.

Help, all this work and no one can see what in my shaker card. The sequins and glass glitter (Michael's brand) 'shake and move'. It is just the chunky glitter that is stuck via static.

Should I try putting a very little powder/cornstarch/flour in the chunky glitter bottle?

Some people say cleaning the "glass" with alcohol or glass cleaner and to eliminate static issues. I've made window ornaments but used glass beads and glitter so static wasn't an issue.

Lydia....you made me lol because I tried it once...it was hard. The result was so pretty but I am not anxious to try it again although I want to...does that make sense? I think I will watch some utube videos to see what I can do easier.

I see people make it look so easy - it just hasn't been one of my spiritual gifts

I'm loving shaker cards lately! But the static can really be an issue on some of them. Sounds like your project is super cute and there is no room for static issues! I remember watching Kristina Werner do a shaker card and she rubbed her static tool right over the acetate where the window was going to be. She even rubbed it on the inside of the foam adhesive so they wouldn't catch on the side. I've tried it and it works great. Good luck!

I rub a dryer sheet over the acetate before putting the glitter/sequins inside.

I did try rubbing a once used dryer sheet over the acetate with a very little success. Will try my powder brush thing that I used to help when embossing.

Thank you all for your suggestions.

I have made shaker cards before and have never had the static problem. Do you think, since I used the snow globe die to cut the shape, that caused the extreme static problem?

Static at my house is caused by the weather. It seems the colder it gets, the more static is in the air. Less humidity causes static also.

I used the embossing buddy and rubbed it all over the back of the card, the acetate, the sides of the foam, my fingers - yea, everything. That cut the static. I have also used some corn starch on the inside to stop stuff sticking to the foam at the sides.

I created the most wonderful Christmas card design for this year - a shaker card with the reindeer on a hillside and lots of snow... Pretty. I made 3 of them, and immediately started looking for a new design. Shaker cards are hard for me. Just getting the hole on the front panel lined up with the hole in the Fun Foam so the front comes out... yea, I do not want to make a ton of these.
