Can someone explain how to go about doing this? I have alot of things that I was going to "trade" but I'm not having any luck getting rid of it. So I have decided to sell.

They will guide you through the process and even have live chat assistance.
Just make sure you are only selling retired product.

I believe, you might want to have your pictures saved on your computer first, so when you go through the process they are ready to upload and
possibly your information typed out, and I think you can cut and paste that in

As long as your not a demo for stmpin up you can sell any set you want. I believe..... I do searches for the same item that i'm selling to see what the going rate is..and watch out how much you spend to list an item... all the little things add up and ebay gets a fee at the end... You need to decide if you want checks or money orders or only paypal( its the safest way)

If you're only a customer, you can sell whatever you want on ebay.
Check out how much you will charge for shipping. When I buy I want to know how much shipping will be. Decide if you will ship to Canada. Many of us Canucks shop on ebay because even with shipping we can still get a pretty good deal. If you have many sets people will ask you if you combine shipping charges if you buy more than one set. For example if one set is 5.50 shipping each extra set might be only 2.00 shipping more. When I shop and find something I like I will check the sellers other items. Hopefully I find more than one set I like and can get cheaper shipping on multiple items.
Have you sold or bought before?
I have noticed that some sellers will mix up what they sell...to hook you into buying more while you wait for the ones you want to come up. For ex. if you have a bunch of floral sets, a bunch of christmas sets or sets that come with accesories, like all wrapped up...people will list a floral, then a christmas then the all wrapped up. Then they might start again, an then add the accesories to all wrapped up. As a buyer if I am watching a set and bidding on it, I might be tempted (okay it has happened to me) to buy the next set because it is going so low or might use it. So while I am waiting for the next floral set, I may have bought one or 2 sets that I did not intend to, because I have gotten caught up in bidding. If you are listing over a few days, don't put all your "good", or really coveted sets first. Mix them up with the ones the people can get easily.
Some people (me) like to bid on "lots" of sets. For example bundle together four or 5 sets, tuck in a few that might not sell well with one or two that are sure to sell and list them as a lot of four of lot of five. Sometimes I only search or "lot of" sets.
This is all from a buyers prospective. I have gotten caught up in bidding when I should not have while waiting for the set I wanted. This is good for you the seller.
When I buy, I look for someone who will ship to Canada, has PayPal has a high feedback rating. I also like it when the person takes two pictures one of the front of the set and one of the rubber, so I can check staining.

Fabulous advice that I second! Also go and hit "advanced search" and look for "completed items only" so you can see what they have been selling for in the past few weeks.
Some other suggestions:
1) Make your auction end on a Sat or Sun night around 6 pm PST.
2) Start the auction low...it increases bidding activity. If you are heck-bent on not letting something go for less than X dollar amount, you can set a reserve price, but I don't usually recommend that unless the item is valuable.
3) Clearly state your terms of sale (contact to be made within 3 days of auction close and payment received within 7 days...or whatever)
4) Ship promptly!!!!
5) Do not inflate your shipping charges. You can weigh your stuff and the PO or at home and add that in so people can use the shipping calculator.
6) I require delivery confirmation for the extra .50 or whatever it is now. Assurance for me and the buyer!
7) Consider shipping to Canada for our neighbors! Like others said, do include pics
9) Also, like others said, take Pay Pal!!
10) State if you have a pet or smoke free home.

Oh, they have a turbo lister. This is helpful as it will make a template for you once you complete the typing in your first auction listing. Saves A LOT of time...look into that. It is free to download.

Sundays work good for me, but personally I never did well ending anything on Saturday night. I just always figured it was because people were "out" doing other things. JMO.
You can use a site called Auctiva.com to do your post. When you post on ebay they charge you for every little thing, like pictures. On ebay you get one picture free. With auctiva you can use any many pics as you please and the site is free. It is set up just like ebay and when your listing is complete it posts it to ebay for you. I just posted my first auction using it and it was very easy.
How much do I have to pay ebay to sell my stuff on their site?
The fees vary...there is a listing fee and that is disclosed before you post the auction. My listings range from .80 to 3.00 to list. Then, they take a final value fee at the end. The FVF is a set percentage of the final auction ending price. Check out eBay and search for "listing fees".
These fees don't bother me, as I would never be able to advertise to the entire world for such an inexpensive price! (And, I keep all of my extras in check...don't pay to bold ths listing title, add 5 pictures, etc) In addition, we do not have a craig's list here in Japan, so this is a good and easy way for me to sell off items to support my habit!!! ;)
One other suggestion I had, in the title of your auction, spell out the company and stamp set name, if you can. For instance: Stampin UP Little Pieces. Then, if there is room, you can add the condition, like NUM, EUC, or whatever. Then, in the auction narrative, restate the item name with any abbreviations: SU Stampin UP Little Pieces, new unmounted or whatever. People can search by just item title or by title and description, so I try to make my listing more apt to come up in a search by using these techniques.

Just a heads up for any SU demos thinking about selling retired items on the bay... SU has once again changed the policy. We are allowed to sell retired items, BUT we, as demos, CANNOT ship across international borders. Only customers have that priviledge.
Personally I think that stinks, since Canada and the US generally have the same items retire. I can see not shipping to Oz or NZ, but Canada??
I had to cancel over $70 worth of bids because I didn't know we couldn't ship to Canada....
so be careful.... read the fine print... this is listed in the demo manual, section 6, page 20.....

I don't sell a lot of stuff because I have this urge to keep all my stuff wether retired or not, but I did sell a couple of retired sets and listed them for international shipping. I don't really understand this either. My opinion is if it IS retired I should be able to do with the set whatever I please. But I guess my opinion doesn't matter.

Well, with the personal account you cannot take credit card transactions, and that is how most people who shop using paypal pay.
Maybe start out with a personal account, and upgrade if someone actually does pay with a credit card.
I know PayPal recently changed their funding options, and requests that most people use their bank account instead of a credit card. However, this takes a few days to clear, and I'm too impatient to wait, so I always use my credit card when paying...
