This is, IMO, a perfect example of what I would expect when clicking through:
CAS Poinsettia card by Veritycards - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

She has lots of extra information in her post.

I really love this thread. I don't have a blog. I always wanted to start one. It was never a good time.

I do have Photo galleries. I don't have an active one right now. That's where I usually do most of my descriptions. I am flattered to be Pinned.

I love to read blogs of all kinds talking about personal lives and ones that don't. If the blogs inspire me it's the only thing that matters to me.

See my blog for my details- It doesn't bother me too much. I can usually tell who is just trying to get traffic and those who are just linking to their blogs. Traffic blogs I tend to stay away from. Not my cup of tea.

It does bother me when DT members write "see my blog for more details" then you go over there and get pounced on by an online sales pitch. Some DT members are so bad I won't shop from the companies.

Commenting on a blog post so you can pin it defeats the whole thing of Pinterest. Pinterest is an online bookmarking site. My husband sets next to me every night and repins all sorts of things. He never checks links. He's just pinning because he likes the things and he wants a visual bookmark to refer back too. I guess he's a bad person because he doesn't leave comments.

Most of the time people are repinning and you can't expect them to leave a comment. IMO that is just as bad as "See my blog". Bloggers are already getting the best traffic from repins. That should be amazing and flattering enough.

I agree! Even more so it drives me crazy when the card is linked and the link doesn't go to the card but just the blog.

Blog commenting as well as blogging has decreased because of the variety of social media. Some have chosen even to give up blogs and pin directly to pinterest or
Instagram. Reporting should definitely be considered flattering. And it helps promote the photo.

Just my take on this subject.... no one has said you have to/need to/should blog any details at all. Just don't "see my blog, blah blah blah" if you don't have more details than what you post in the gallery.

I do this all the time in my uploads, so I sure hope it's not me that's being referred to here. In my defense, I do link to the actual blog post with that card, and do not use a link to my blog in general. I have had times where the gallery gremlins were giving me fits and the blog links weren't working, but 95% of the time I link directly to my post, and I try to go back and fix links that were not working at one point. (And should mention, I also do post a list of my supplies, but I just copy and paste it from my blog post into the description part of my upload, rather than having to retype everything in the gallery fields.)
