I am fairly new at hanging out on SCS, but I have been stamping for a few years. I think SCS is TERRIBLE because it makes me want to stamp all of the time, and when I'm not on SCS, making cards, looking at magazines, etc. I am thinking about stamping. I think SCS is an addiction and I have become an addict!
Also, I just returned from a Wally Mart trip. I was in there for about an hour and did not buy one necessity - no food, no toiletries, no milk, etc. I spent the whole hour wandering up and down the craft isles looking - thinking - filling my cart.
The problem is that before I became an SCS addict I stamped cards. WELL, today I bought a tin, some huge paper clips, legal pads, clipboards, and all kinds of "stuff" I may someday use.
The truth is that I think SCS is AWESOME! I am willing to admit that I am an addict, but I do not want to change. I am getting ready to set up my gallery tomorrow (no school).
Thanks to all of you that have given me great ideas and even thank you to the ones that MADE ME buy all of the fun stuff. Thanks for reading my ramblings!
I am also a new RAK member. I have been more interested in sending out RAKs than sending cards to my own family. I even bought a couple of things to RAK complete strangers. What is my world coming to?
Obessively obessed myself!!!! Sorry there's not a warning label, but this place can be addictive and become habit forming!!!! It's my favorite place to be.

I agree ... and the enablers on this site ...I am forever buying something that I wouldnt have enough thought of ever buying if it wasnt for SCS! I do love this place, but one day I may be bankrupt because of it!
You have only reached stage 1 of the SCS addiction.
Stage 2 is when you'd rather surf SCS than stamp.
Stage 3 is when you start using SCS lingo in real life. Like you introduce your husband and children, "this is my DH, Matt, and my DS and DD." Or your friend says something funny and you say, "LOL" instead of actually laughing.
Stage 4 is when you have a bunch of SCS friends that your children refer to as your "pretend" friends. And your day is not complete unless you've chatted with them. ;)

OMG.....so funny......
So pitiful...but sooo true!!!!! Hilarious...I have more "pretend" friends than real friends!!!!
According to handstampedhappiness I must be between stage 2 and 3.
I'm at work all day and then I'll see something and start thinking how that would look on this card/scrapbook page. I even took a diskette that we were going to throw away and when I broke it in half there was a round chip inside...naturally I swiped that! Whatever I'll use it for remains to be seen yet.

I totally agree! I can't go to sleep at night after visiting SCS because I get so many inspirations and plan them in my head. Does anyone have a solution for this obscession? I've had many hobbies but this one is the most fun.

Me too! I have more "pretend" friends than in real life. I think that I've done all four stages. I've even taken stamping stuff to work to finish at the office during the slow time, so I can stamp again at home! Must be stage 5!

What you and all of the above have said. I am retired (good thing) and DH cooks and does dishes so I can stamp! (Or surf SCS) Is that stage 6?

Yup...oh so true. I surfed this weekend - had plenty of time to stamp and I did not get inky at all.
Good luck with your newfound addiction...and we look forward to seeing your gallery (that is if you ever get around to stamping!!)
If this is a sickness, I never want to be cured! I visit SCS daily and have major withdrawals when I can't! The unbelievable creativity found on this site feeds my sickness and I love it!

Some where between stage 3 and 4 is when you start looking at colors in clothing, walls, art, cars, ANYTHING and thinking of them in terms of the color families......I was in the dr. office recently and thought....."hmmmm those walls are a lovely shade of .....so saffron!!"......
Welcome to SCS......where everyone on the "outside" thinks that we are all chatting w/ men who are pretending to be stamping women!! My girlfriends have said that....."HOW do you know your're really chatting w/ a woman who likes to stamp......be careful....it could be some guy!"

I'm almost at stage 6 (almost retired but can't completely because I need my small paycheck to support this habit!!!). My husband works full time and does all of the cooking. I do clean up the kitchen in between cards! Very addictive, in fact, I am going to visit a new stamp store tomorrow --- wonder what I will find...

I'm so glad I came upon this thread! I was beginning to think I might have to seek professional help with my SCS addiction. I also sit at a desk job all day and dream of cards, scrap pages and my next visit to SCS! Help me!;-)

Nice to learn I am not yet completely addicted. I've only reached Stage 2. Surfin' & Chattin' -- that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!!!!!
I agree, this website is TOTALLY ADDICTING! They should probably put a disclaimer on the front page "enter at your own risk; not responsible for any addictions developed from visiting this website" LOL.

Hey, Debbie, I have been stamping for about 10 years and I'm still an addict. I have to restrain myself at SU parties from buying too much because I have sets I haven't even used yet!!!!! I also use those 40% off coupons at Joanne's, ACMoore, and Michaels. When I have them, they burn a whole in my pocket. I even drag my DH in the store with me and sometimes I go in a second time.
