If SCS wants to have such an addicting site, they should offer a self-help course with it! LOL I've been sitting here reading and reading and just walked into the kitchen and totally forgot I was cooking porkchops. Anyone in the mood for some burned chops? Maybe I can sell them ebay!
I'm right there with you! I read at work...every day I come in with a plan of action to get xy&z done BEFORE I even open up to SCS otherwise...before I know it NOTHING has gotten done and I have a big pile of crap on my desk. great. Today was a productive day though...good for me
Been there, done that, only for me it was flood not fire: started running bath water, went to SCS "just for a minute", next thing you know.......you get the idea! As for burning the food, that only happened to me while watching Julia Child on the kitchen tv while the sauce burned on the stove behind me.
I think you should take some White CS and try stamping with your burned pork chops to make so lovely background papers... maybe we could call it burnt offerings technique...or blackened pig stamping...or you might be able to do the stamping on the take out containers from the Chinese food you order quickly for dinner.... And then Post your creations of course and we will all try to copy them! I think the darker the chops the better for stamping...don't you!
This might be a good way to stamp out Fat too! I could suggest we all start burning dinner being on SCS so we would lose weight faster! Thanks for the chuckle!
Yup I know what you mean....I put some steaks on the grill last night and ran in to just check SCS quickly (yeah right...like that ever happens!!!) and about ten minutes later my son asked if it was time to eat.... so we had steak flavored hockey pucks for dinner. My yellow lab just loves them!!!

I wish had burnt chops for dinner....I was on SCS this morning longer than I thought  ....sooo...when I realized it was lunch time  I went to the kitchen only to be shocked again  OMG....the pot roast waiting to be put in the crock pot :!: So I hurried up...chopped onions...you know the recipe...and threw it in by 12:30 pm....phew....3:00 rolls around I through a few taters and carrots in the pot...mmmmm....smelled good ...guess I have a little time to check in here at SCS The afternoon passes as quickly as the morning :!:
Well...my husband calls at 5:00 and says he's on his way home (that's so I can plug coffee in)...I go to make the gravy and OH MY! the meat was tough and not cooked the veggies were still hard and no wheres near 1/4 of the way cooked....DH walks in the door to a wonderful aroma of pot roast dinner.....guess what I served him Chicken salad sandwich with apple an a very HARD roll  He said, "it was good but I thought we were having something else, what do I smell cooking?" I told him tomorrow nights dinner, POT ROAST of course! Well I only have 2 plates for dishes tonight to wash...guess they can wait till morning...that's why I'm sitting here on SCS now...great huh?
Gee, I don't have to cook tomorrow ladies....just zap a plate of pot roast in the microwave and hand it to my DH when he walks through the door tomorrow evening and he will sing praises of my cooking abilities and how I juggle things to run this house so smoothly

Y'all crack me up!!!!! I think Robin should stamp an image ON the pork chop and then try to sell it on e-bay. If they are goofy enough to buy it, . . .

I can't even tell you how many things I have burnt since I found SCS! Tonight I made toast for my son and I was about to come check SCS while it cooked and thought "ya know, you better wait until it's done or it'll burn". Glad I waited, because I know I would have burnt it!

Hey mschoener, Thank you for the recipe also, ebay here I come....designer pork chops for Thursday....maybe they'll be at a reduced price...4 day old meat can't possibly go for as much as 13 year old grilled cheese...

OMG, I'm crackin' up! I thought I was losing my mind, juggling too much at once, but no...all that burnt food, forgotten bills, missed appointments, it's SCS! Hey, it's the stamper's version of ADD -- too funny. OK, I'm gonna go "take my meds" (e.g., stamp two cards and call me in the morning).
2 cheers for stampers!

I did the same thing the other day while I was boiling eggs! I went into the kitchen after "browsing" SCS and the eggs were smoking and there was NO water in the pan! LOL My dh came home and said whatcha cooking? Looked at the pan and said, Oh, you must have been on line. LOL
Woops!
Chris
OMG...ROTFL!!!! It's a good thing I don't have to make dinner for family any more...for sure they would never get to eat. I find I get on here...forget to even get to the kitchen...and then eat something fast...not very healthy...but boy is my mental health ever on the up swing!!!

Yup, that's our family too. Mom's happy, everyone else's hungry. Time to teach the kids to cook. Yeah, there's an idea. Give them each a recipe and let them cook once a week.
I haven't burned anything, but I have let 6pm creep around without even noticing, and once I let bread rise waaaaay too long. It ruined the yeast and the bread was a rock. I always set a timer now...that is if I remember to...
This is soooooo TRUE!! I was going to start the exact same topic!! I spend waay too much time on this site! It's a good thing I never cook otherwise we'd all be starving.
I have to admit - when my STB hubby and I were watching a movie last night I convinced him to go upstairs to make me some ice tea and as soon as he went - I got on to SCS to check out what was new on the forum!!  I had just gotten off of here too right before we started watching the movie!!
