Hi! We're trying to plan a CO Get-Together for SCSers!! Some of you have already expressed an interest and emailed me your contact information (Name, SCS name, email, and location), so I've been compiling a list of those people, but now we need to spread the word and get moving on this!
So far, we're trying to shoot for Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005. We'll see if that will work for most people. If not, we'll have to choose an alternate date. If you're interested in attending, please let us know:
1) Your name
2) Your location
3) Would you be willing to go to Denver (if you live south), or the Springs (if you live north)? We have people from the Springs, Denver, north Denver, and may have some from WY or KS that may want to attend as well.
4) Do you have contacts at any places we could rent? How much?
5) If you prefer daytime, evening, or both?
6) Ideas of what you'd like to do, ie. just get together and meet other SCSers and stamp, or have a more organized session, like demo'd projects to make, etc.?
7) Can you make it on Feb. 26?
Thanks! It will be so fun to meet everyone in person! - J. and Julie
I would love to come if I can talk my DH into making a trip back for it! It is easier for me if it is in Denver because that is where our parents live so we would have free houseing....whenever time wise we, if we make it if I can get a comittment from DH, is ok because we would come back fri night probably. I dont really have any connections of places we could use...my e mail is [email protected] if you need to catch me. Thanks so much letting me come play!!!!
I'm looking forward to this,
my phone 719-535-2610
live in the Springs, e-mail: [email protected]
May be there is a hotel that will rent us a conference room
or something. I think it might be fun to at least do some
swaps. I'm looking forward to it. I think Denver might be
the best area, just since there maybe people coming in from
WY & KS.
Thanks,
Mary
J, Denver is fine, I'll just stay at your house. LOL JUST KIDDING! If you are planning on doing it down here, let me know, I priced Amerisuites and they have a good deal on their meeting room and you don't have to stay at the hotel! P.s I'm back from SLC
I would love this - if it was in Denver.
I live about an hour north of there. The 26th would be great, and anytime of the day is great if I have enough notice ahead of time.
My e-mail address is [email protected]
Something more formal would be great.
Let me know.
THanks
I would love to get together with some other stampers, and Denver would be the best place for me, as I live there. I am new to all this, so I would like to see some things demo'd. Any time during the day is fine--how about all day!
Hmmm...this could be interesting. If it were in the Springs, as you put it, it would be around the time I'd like to come and visit my DH. I'll have to watch this thread! ~Lorie
Count me in for Denver. I live 3+ hours away, but usually stay in the area of I25 & Arapahoe when I go to Denver. Would definitely prefer daytime event.
Hmmm, I think Mommy needs a long weekend without the kidlets

I live in the Springs and of course would like it here, but I could go to Denver. Maybe those of us from here could carpool. I have a car that seats 8. I live in the NE section of CS.
I'd love to come! Day or Evening works for me. I would prefer Denver as I live in Centennial (just south east of Denver...southeast Aurora area). But I'd be willing to travel to the Springs as it's only an hour away. We could probably set up a carpool. Keep me posted...I can't wait!
Okay - we're still compiling information, but for now, mark your calendars for the 26th!! Looks like Denver may be our best option, but we'll see how it pans out. Carpooling may be a good option for those of you from the Springs - will give you even more time to get to know each other! I'm thinking it will probably be an all-day event, so those that have to drive won't have to drive so late that night, but those that want to stay longer, we can!
I'll do some checking around on places to hold it in the next couple of days and touch back.
If you want to car pool from the Springs, Linda, I'm willing to do that. I do have a meeting that a.m. from 10 to 12 so I would be available to help with driving after 12.
Let me know what your plans are.
Thanks,
Mary ;)
I was wondering if there wasnt one of you in the Denver area that could get a church hall or domething donated for us to use instead of having to "rent" a conference room at a hotel or something like that? You may already be on that page but I thought I would check...it would be great if someone could get the space donated to us! I am not sure but if you approached a few of the craft stores if they would have a class room available to us to use, there is place at about 78th and wadswoth that has a class roon that is a stamp and scrapbook store( I cannot remember the name now...or maybe the Archivers at 92nd and Sheridan...if they thought that we might purchase something they might let us us their space! If they knew we were just some "crafters" wanting to get together....its just a thought......
Sonya - That would be great fun! I'll keep you updated when I find out when/if he'll have time for me to come. Thanks for the invite! ~Lorie
P.S. I got to see pictures of my DH's platoon and his, I can't remember what he called them, but, group of Bradley's when he was home for Christmas. The area looks really pretty...okay, not the Bradley's but you know what I mean!

I am checking with my church (it is The Salvation Army on Alameda in Denver--I-25 and Alameda) They have just finished remodeling and they have a kitchen right there. There is also a nursery (no childcare though :( ), just in case some one has to bring their children. I am sure that I can get it for nothing or next-to nothing. Should I run with this? I spoke with Julie (sixbares) and she said that sounded like it could be a good idea. Let me know....
There are a couple of rooms that are off the main fellowship hall at the church, not to mention that there are a couple of rooms upstairs that we could use as well.
I would not offer this idea if this place wasn't as nice as hotel banquet rooms and so much cheaper. I have to speak with my pastors and we could possibly get it for free, unfortunately they are on vacation right now. I have a call into them and should know something more within the next week. Also, if anyone else wants to check it out beforehand, I could arrange to meet you there and we could walk through...
PM me and let me know....
I'm just north of Denver. The 26th works fine for me.
Maybe we can have each person bring a make and take? Like a shoebox swap? Or maybe a couple of us could put together an idea and tell everyone else what to bring to make the items? I dunno -- I'm up for anything.
Robyn,
I think it sounds like a great idea!!! I am trying my hardest to make sure that I am in Denver for this...I know if I dont come I will never forgive myself!!!!
Catie- I am not in Co anymore...in KS now and I am planning on going....I would love for you to come too!!! I cant imagine these nice Co. girls would mind!!!!!
I think the church space sounds great. Am I correct in thinking that I25 & Alameda are fairly close (about 20 minutes) from I25 & Arapahoe? If I remember correctly, their are some great Asian markets/restaurants on Alameda?
I will probably be staying at the Summerfield Suites. If any of the out of towners need rooms, check out their website, specifically the webrates. I can usually score a 1 bedroom suite (with hot breakfast) for $48-68 a night. It's a great place to stay, and close to a lot of shopping.

Robyn, thanks so much for checking into your church! That would be GREAT if you could get it - especially if it has a kitchen! (However... does that mean we can only have non-alcoholic beverages? Or just wine? lol) The central location would work really well, too. I have to go to AZ until Friday so I won't do any checking until I hear back from you. Usually, VFWs, KofCs, etc. usually have good rates (and kitchens) if your church won't work. I would ask about my church, but we always have so much going on all the time that I really doubt it would be available for such an extended time frame.
Catie, of COURSE you can join us! Just bring the cookbooks with you!
I am in Longmont, CO and would love to attend dates work great for me,
daytime better but night works too, Denver area also great location. Count me in!
FYI - I am having a SU Party Jan. 22 and would love to invite anyone in the area who might be interested, I am located off hwy119 and airport rd.
send me an email if interested. Would love to meet fellow stampers.
Hey gals there should be 2 of us from Goodland coming!!! As far as what to do...I dont know....are we going to bring swaps? if so how many and full cards or fronts....I guess my vote is for full cards for those who are not demos so that they could "use" the cards if they wanted. I know it is more paper but it is more usefull in the end! I am a demo but my friend who is coming with me is not. (she also is from Colorado!) Let me nkow any further info!!!

Thank you so much, Robyn, for your church letting us use their space!
For those who are attending, please email me (link below) with your confirmation so we can get a headcount. Once we determine how many people will be attending, then we can get an idea of how many swaps to make.
Also, if anyone would be willing to do a make and take, please let me know. Since the space will be free, we could chip in and reimburse you for supplies costs, etc. Thanks!
Either Denver or Colo. Springs is fine with me as I live north of Denver & my DD is in Monument. Saturday, the 26th is great for both of us.
I am looking forward to getting together. [email protected]
