Question Scrapbooking must-haves

I volunteer for an animal shelter, and we're having a big fundraiser that includes a silent auction. We're doing themed baskets this year and I volunteered to do - wait for it - card making and scrapbooking. I know, shocking. Anyway, I'm much more of a card maker than a scrapbooker so I'm set for that basket. So far for the scrapbooking basket I have 2 albums, 12x12 paper, small & large alpha stamps, adhesive, chipboard punch outs, a sewing kit and some idea books. I'm hoping a friend who is a 31 consultant will donate a tote bag. What else would be good? Thanks in advance for your input.

How about a trimmer, or some scissors?

What about a basic black stamp pad and markers to go with the stamps? It'll be nice to have some accessories too like brads, buttons or ribbons.

How exciting!!!!!

Good for you, Lisa! My daughters and I have done the same thing many times for the Susan G. Komen foundation. What about a couple of punches - flowers, butterflies, basic shapes, whatever. Michael's has a coup for 40% off 1 item right now. We usually include too, a couple of Tim Holtz distressing inks and a pack of cheap make-up sponges for sponging the edges of the paper. Also a pack of vellum for printing things on the computer. Good luck and I'm sure your baskets will help raise some good money for a wonderful cause!

More page protectors for the albums? They don't come with many and sometimes it's hard to find them. Unless you are banking on them coming to you to get more in which case as Gilda Radner would say, "Never mind!" LOL

How about journaling pens/markers - make sure they are pigment and not dye.

I agree with the scissors or paper trimmer. Is the 12x12 paper all patterned, or is some of it cardstock? If it's all patterned paper, I'd add some coordianting cardstock. I know some people use the pp as their background, but I personally prefer using a cs background.

Maybe a nice journaling pen? A journaling spot stamp, or paper journaling spots? A date stamp?

A couple of themed scrapping kits would be good, I know I've bought those at Target and Michael's before.

I don't think you can go wrong with any embellishments, brads, die cuts, and yes, even some good quality stickers. I know some people would raise their eyebrows at stickers, but there are some cute ones out there.

And I really agree with the punches, I use mine in my scrapbooks at lot.

As mentioned above a trimmer/scissors and cardstock would be "essentials" to me personally.

I'd probably add some embellishments such as ribbons, flowers, decorative brads.

Oh and a journalling pen.
