Ok ladies (DH said you are all enablers! and I agreed) - I'm needing some retail therapy so today at lunch I am going to purchase my Scor Pal at my LSS! I'm taking off tomorrow to play!
Thanks for all the input!

a definite YES! It is one tool I use on EVERY card and it makes a huge difference. (I also LOVE creating embossed bgs with it)

Well, that is all right, because most of our hubby's say that, but want to make us happy so they agree .

Have fun playing tomorrow and watch out, it gets quite addicting. You'll be scoring things you never thought you'd be scoring.

Can't wait for you to post some of your creations made with your new toy.

Default Love it!!!!

I LOVE it. Wonderful tool. I also have the mat for it.

I just ordered the new tool with their 2 for 1 offer and free shipping. I ordered some other products as well, their great two sided tape and the glitter cleaner cloth and some other products. They even deducted the $4 off from the bill because of their free shipping for just that new cutting tool.

As they are in BC Canada and we live in Ontario, I like them even more as we do not pay the 8% Provincial Sales Tax (I hope). Just the 5% Goods and services tax. Yes, we are taxed to death in Canada. Also like that the prices are the same in Canada & US so that saves an extra 25%. As our dollar is now 80 cents that means a 25% increase on the US$ and credit cards charge an additional 2-1/2 to 3% for their conversion.

Buy It!!

I haven't found any other way of reproducing those score lines, and I tried a lot of different techniques before I bought a Scor-Pal.
Why wouldn't a scoring blade on a Fiskars cutter work the same way? Is the line actually different, or is it just easier on a Scor Pal?

The scoring blade on a cutter has such a thin blade that all you really get is a depression. Whereas on the scor-pal you actually get a debossed line - so if you flip it over the line is embossed and you can use it for an accent on your card as well as the folding point.

Buy a Scor-Pal and add the Scor-Mat. It's a must have combination! I brought the Scor-Pal and the Scor-Mat (in the Scor-Tote, of course) to the doc's office. I had a nice portable, sturdy (and clean!) work surface to work on cards in the waiting room. I got lots of ohh's and ahh's from other people waiting for their appts. I even demo'd the Scor-Pal to anohter crafter there that had to see it in action!

Thank you, I was wondering about that!

Darn it all, hoping to save a buck!

If you did buy it I hope you feel as I do that it's one of the best purchases ever made. I use it on all my cards for the perfect fold score and then use it occasionally for backgrounds and other design extras...the website is wonderful for tips and tutorials. Enjoy!!!!

Thumbs up I wish i lived in America so i could get a Scor Pal

It looks like a fantastic idea, and we dont have anything like it in australia.
unfortunately, the exchange rate at the moment is way to low for us.

The Scor Pal would cost me $69.71 plus $18.00 postage . And i cant justify that price.

BUT YES DEFINATELY THINK YOUR AMERICAN SCOR PAL is worth it.

I will be buying it when the exchange rate improves.

If you send an email to Diana @ Scor-Pal maybe she can help you find a retailer in Australia. There were quite a few Australian retailers at CHA who stopped by the Scor-Pal booth.

Just thought I would add my favorite hint. The valley from the score goes on the outside of the cards. The score actually breaks the paper fibers and makes it easier to fold. This is especially true on DCWV texture paper, which sometimes splits at the fold.

Ok now I have to go and buy one. I was on the fence about paying $40.00 for a piece of plastic. I seen it on HSN last week and having been trying to decide if I needed it or not. I'm going to order mine now. THANKS,
Karen

I have a freeze on spending due to the fact that my DH is low man on the pole in the Automotive industry, and I am a self employed cleaning lady and soon to be lawncare biz too. But when I did have money to spend I bought one. I love it! And am so glad I have it. Mine stays on my desk beside my cutter. And when things get back to good times I will purchase the mat too. Scro-pal and GinaK both have great service. Save your pennies and go ahead and order both at one time and save on the shipping if you can!

Default Yes!

It's a very handy tool to have. I've only been stamping/cardmaking since the beginning of the year and I was using my bone folder and the groove of my Fiskars trimmer. Even though I knew the correct direction to fold the scoring lines, etc. with the Scor-Pal the folds don't crack and everything looks neater. Plus, the lines are straight! It does take a bit of extra thinking to figure out where to score, say for nugget boxes, etc but it's worth it. I've found some good tutorials that use the Scor-Pal.

I was so disappointed with the scoring "blade" that fits on my trimmer. Tossed that little thing in the trash. It barely dented CS or paper.

i think all the ones out now are "new". I know it ws almost a year ago that Dana was offering some deal if you had the "old" one to get the "new" one with a discount or something. I'm almost certain that unless you get it used from BST it will be new. But seriously Dana and the Score-Pal folks are awesome, just email and ask. Even if you are buying it from somewhere else, she will know, i bet, if they have the old or new.

Does anyone know of any good CANADIAN places to order this gem?? I cringe at the thought of paying just as much for shipping as for the Score Pal itself!! Looking for the best deal (aren't we all?!) Our Michaels in Canada doesn't carry it and there are not many other options besides our LSS and whatever Walmart Canada carries.......

I know Gina K carries them and she has flat rate shipping to Canada. I think it is about $5.95 for orders over $35, but don't quote me on that.

Default Bad influences

You're all so bad for me...lol.. I've been putting off getting one because of the price. After reading all of your glowing reviews and thinking of all the invitations I'm doing for the In-Law's 50th Anniv. party this summer, I moved this up to a necessity.
Just ordered it 2 hours ago from GinaK (with the free shipping), & they've already e-mailed me that it's shipped! Awesome!!!! I can't wait to play.
Thanks ladies!
