The only bad thing is if this true will be that these sets will be retired. Can't imagine what will replace Lovely as a Tree that is as good as that set.
Holy Shmolies - I hope its true. I've been wanting to get Lovely as a Tree and Summer by the Sea. I don't have a catalog with me, so these are the only 2 I remember wanting offhand. YIPPEEE - please let it be true, please let it be true, please let it be true, etc. to infinity with my fingers crossed.

Not necessarily. I mean, Sincere Salutations will be in the new catty.

I really don't think that these sets will be targeted for retirement...or at least not all of them. Most of these sets have a current Inspiration Sheet that just came out recently. I think that they are just all occassion sets that really are a good compliment to Sincere Salutations. Remember September Six Promo...now those sets might also be targeted for retirement. Sounds like a great March Promo right after Sell-A-Bration.

Yes, it is true. However, it ISN'T true that these sets will definately be retired. There have been promotions in the past when sets that were on special were retired, but only in some instances. So, I think we're jumping to conclusions saying that they will be retired. Especially since Stampin' Up! recently made inspiration sheets for a few of these sets. I would be VERY suprised if all of these sets retire.
Anyway, my suggestion is if you love any of these sets, make sure to get them at such a great price! We'll have to just wait & see what gets retired.
Stampin' Up! is doing this promotion as a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to demonstrators & customers, not to get rid of these sets.

How do you know that these sets will be retired?
Katy
It's actually speculation because last year all the 50% sets that came out around Christmas were retired when the 04-05 catalog came out. I doubt this will be the case with this years. I'm going to check the old catalog when I get home, but a few of these are new this year and most of the time sets run at least 2 catalogs.
Wow...I hope your source is a reliable one. All these sets are on my wish list, so it would be great for them to be on special in March. When will the official announcement be made?
How has this special worked in the past? I remember that you need a minimum order ($25.00 maybe?) After that, can you get one set half price, or as many of the selected ones as you want for half price?
Well, who knows. Someone else said that their source told them they would all be preview new sets from the new catty. I didn't get that from the card, but who knows!
See, now from the card I did get the feeling that they would all be preview sets. How funny. Only time will tell. And we only have to wait 79 1/2 more hours.

It's true...it's true. I can't tell you how I know without getting in trouble. But count on it! It's true. Those are the sets!
I really don't think those sets will retire. At least not Shapes and Shadow, Stipple Celebration and Something to Celebrate. All three have Inspiration sheets. I really hope not. And I love Summer by the Sea. How could they retire that beautiful girl! To bad I don't need any of those sets anymore! Call me a collector. LOL
Something to Celebrate, Summer by the Sea, and Shapes & Shadows are all new sets this year. Unless they are doing really bad, and I don't think so, I very sincerely doubt they would retire at least those three.
Am I wrong that Sincere Salutations was a THANK YOU gift from Stampin' up! because of our patience and help to make the move as smooth as possible?
My thoughts are: that Stampin' Up! picked VERY popular sets and are giving them to us and our customers at 1/2 off as another THANK YOU. I mean it makes sense...they couldn't give us this THANK YOU before Christmas because they were still settling in. They obviously couldn't do it during Jan/Feb so it stands to reason the next perfect time frame would be kicking off March and the new Catalog preview times...
It boggles my mind that they would even consider retiring any one of those sets. AND Sincere Salutations was promised to be in the new catalog.
Just my 2 cents
I'm waiting on pins and needles for my March Stampin' Success to come. In reading the little card that came with my set (which I can't find now), as well as something else somewhere else, I understood that it would be Sincere Salutations and five sets from the new catalog. I'm sticking with that until I see something different in print from the official source.

LizzieStamps go on the demo forum and look at the March promo thread. They have a link where you can look at the March Stampin Success online. In the Stampin Success it has the article about the March 50% promo. There is also another link that might be of interest to all demos out there, new hostess sets!
Oh no. I was putting my order in next week (for SAB) and Summer by the Sea and Lovely As A Tree are two that I was going to order. Now I HAVE to wait till March to order those. At least I found out before I put in my order. I would have been mad if I found out after.
I haven't yet received it. I ordered it last week. Can my demo exchange it for me (in its original, unopened state) for something of the same price if this is the case with the sale? TIA for any help you can provide.

Serena, YES! Your demo can exchange it. The only catch is that you will have to pay shipping to get it back to SU, as well as a $3.95 charge to get the new one to you. If it was an expensive set, you might still be better off doing that--especially if you mailed the returning set to SU by parcel post or first class rather than priority. . . just so it actually *gets* there. :-) HTH!
I re-read the card that came in the Sincere Salutations and I didn't get the "hit" off it that the sets would be new ones from the 2005-06 catty-- except the Sincere Salutations.
Just me thoughts

Ok, not that I don't love getting 1/2 off but I have all of those but Summer by the Sea. It wasn't on my wish list but I did think that I might think about it in a couple of months. And I just got Lovely as a Tree and Stipple Celebrations. I haven't even used them yet. PLEASE don't let them retire!!!!
March Stampin Success isn't available on line yet. What was that about?

I went to the demo form and didn't see anything on the March promo. Where do I look??
I just want to add my two cents to this... The two previous years, the March Promos have been appreciation promos...they had NOTHING to do with stamp.. 2003 you earned free eyelets with the purchase of certain sets and a pack of tags... 2004 you earned the free buttons with the purchase of the stamp set and the cs I believe it was sertain stamp sets and the ss asstd CS.. so I really think that this promotion is to show us that SU! does appreciate us and wants to reward both demos and customers alike!!!
But that is just my two cents!
In the past, when a set was on sale for 50% off, it meant retirement was imminent. Well, we all know that Sincere Salutations will be in the next catalog so retirement is not an issue for that set.
Now, I have noticed that things they are a changin' at SU. What WAS is NOT what IS. The past has no bearing on the future at SU, thank goodness. I am speculating there are new marketing personnel or someone with really fresh sales/customer service ideas.
For example, if a stamp set sells really well (Canvas, Collage) during its mini-catalog period, why should it be taken off the market until the new catalog comes out. Does that make good economic sense? It appears that some previous rules are being modified.
whoo hoo!! I've been DYING for ALL of these sets!!! Can you just "get" them for 50% off, or do you have to do something (like buy a certain amount)? are there limits on how many you can get (not multiples of the same set, but can you buy all of them at 50% off?)

You will have to pay the shipping to get it back to SU, but you will NOT have to pay shipping of $3.95 if you exchange it within 90 days.

I've been looking in the demo forum chit chat and still can't find a link to the March SS yet. I thought it wouldn't come on line until the 15th. I don't see info about new hostess sets either. Any more clues or info?
