Ribbon Tip
I was doing my cards for a Christmas swap, and was really trying to use as little Vintage Violet ribbon as possible. What I discovered - I punched two holes about 1/2 inch apart, then threaded the ribbon down to the back and then up to the front. I counted 6 stitch lines on the ribbon, and pulled the uncut end until I was at the 6th stitch. I counted 6 stitches from the uncut side, and cut the ribbon there with a bit of an angle. I used the end that was frayed a bit to start with, and did a reef knot (left over right, under, pull, right over left, under and pull.) I had to trim a bit off the ragged end, but the other end stayed really neat. I only lost about 1 stitch length per ribbon piece, instead of a lot more. It would be easy to do that for a make and take, just cut the appropriate number of stitches, (of course, remembering there would be one or two stitches on the back side of the cardstock) and you have less waste.
