We are participating in the MS walk for a close friend of mine. I was trying to think of some little favors that she could pass out to friends and co-workers that are participating. Any ideas? I tried searching the gallery, but didn't find anything. Thanks for any help.
That's so awesome that you're participating in the MS Walk to support your friend. I'll tell you, that means so much to so many people you've never met...thank you!
If you're going to be making a lot, how about something really quick like a matchbook with a Giardhelli (sp? LOL?) chocolate square stapled inside. The "color" for MS awareness is actually just irridescence or hologram-ish, to represent the many different ways MS affects people. Do you have any irridescent paper you could use, perhaps? Or maybe an image you could stamp and emboss with holograph ep? If not, it's no big deal at all. The fact that you're doing this at all is so wonderful...
Thanks for the great ideas. I didn't know about the hologram color -that is really helpful to know. I will try to post what I come up with!
one year, i made these gum holders to thank friends that baked for my bake sale (to support breast cancer funding). everyone thought they were cute, but what's really telling is that i saw one in a friend's office this week - she'd kept it after 3 years!
LOVE the water bottle idea! Also, you could put a handful of Hershey's hugs and kisses in a nylon net circle and attach a ribbon with a small stamped tag saying 'Hugs & Kisses to a caring friend!'.

Hmm, I never thought to do stuff for the people who come & walk for me every year (I have MS, too). I mean, I've made thank you cards, but presents are always fun! Now I've got all these ideas going thru my head. Thanks for the thread GIL & thanks for the ideas everyone. I'm sure your friend will really appreciate your efforts!

Thanks guys for the great ideas! I am thinking I may go with the Power type bars/granola bar? --since I think they will have water and hotdogs at the walk. Not sure about how to decorate or wrap up the power bar?
Otherwise just wrapping a power/gronola bar in a nice dec. paper with a tag saying Thank You is also nice.
If you are giving it out on the walk, generally it pretty much needs to be "consumable" and not too big since they will be walking. I made gum favors once and I actually just bought the gum packets and covered them with dec. paper and a label so that it was not too bulky.
Good luck...my sister in law has MS and unfortunately suffered her "first" complication just last week which brings "reality" to this illness. Our local walk is also coming up at the end of the month
I also have MS and I think it is wonderful to do these favors. All the ideas are great!
