I think the Chicken wire BG is also rare. Also, the horse stamps esquarian (SP??)

I found a charity listing stuff for sale, and I got Godspeed for $15.00 on ebay. I did e-mail and tell them to remember to list SU in the header, as I am sure she would have gotten more $$$!

All That Jazz is rare, but I don't know if it would be popular.

I don't know if it is just my taste, but all the ones listed are not my fav's, nor do I have any, and I have been buying Stampin Up for about 8 years and have hundreds of sets.

There are many, many sets that are hard to get and the price often jumps dramatically.... These come to mind:

~ For the Love of Chocolate
~ Wild Wild West
~ Wolf
~ Courage and Honor
~ Godspeed
~ Snowglobe
~ Silent Night (the church from the Christmas 05 mini)
~ Christmas Cardinal
~ Sunny Season's Greetings (usually goes in the $50 range)
~ Just Flying By (an old Halloween set normally hits in the $30 range)
~ Chicken Wire Background
~ Old Map Background
~ Filigree Background (sometimes goes for double)
~ The Chill of Winter
~ Up on the Housetop or is it Rooftop?
~ Merry Little Christmas
~ All Aboard (a realistic train set)
~ Stella the Stamper (used to be extremely rare and expensive, but lately not so expensive)
~ Love Bakes (wooden set not foam goes for plenty as a rule)

Male themed sets tend to retire and are more expensive (as well as harder to find) as do a select few Christmas sets.

Do you mean Godspeed? That and Courage & Honor are VERY hard to find. I finally found Godspeed, but have yet to find Courage & Honor, at least for less than $100 :o

Is there any resource other than the gallery to look up old Su sets? I have a Halloween set from probably 1997 or 1998. It's not Haunted House (darn it). I already looked that one up in the gallery. I am purging my stamp supplies and this is one thing I might like to get rid of since it's seasonal and my tastes in stamps has just changed radically in that past ten years. Would appreciate any help.

A lot of "Rare" sets are sets that are more geared toward masculine. I sure wish they'd really work on getting many more masculine sets.

If you describe it or post a picture I am sure someone here will know what it is. I have old catalogs and can look it up for you.

You can try looking on Ebay. It's a bit hit-or-miss without the name, but maybe try "stampin up" and "halloween".

Funny part of this idea/list is the few sets that you all are listing as possible rare/big sellers are the sets I wouldn't give up even for a good $ amount! I guess that is part of the reason these sets are there. People want them.

I also can't bring myself to cout it even tho I would like to use it. sad I know. BTW I have Sweet herbs too (My former upline gave it to me for $10) I would be happy to send you some images stamped.

I have Oriental Gardens and once had someone offer me $40. But I wouldn't sell it for twice that! (Well, probably not.) And I hardly ever use it. What can I say? I think I am just a hoarder.

I missed out on getting Holy Triptych and just looked it up on eBay, one just sold today for $51.56!! Didn't it cost about $33 a few days ago?

I bought Sweet Herbs for a good price on here, from a lady who is now my friend!

Not trying to hijack this thread, but I checked my old Halloween set when I got home. Copyright date is actually 1995. There four stamps- the phrase "Happy Haunting!", a ghost by a headstone that says RIP w/ a bat flying above, a witch with a cauldron, and a haunted house house with ghosts and pumpkins. The style is kind of cartoon-y, not as realistic as the Haunted Halloween set. If there was anything that give the set name in the kit, it's gone now. I don't have a digital camera at present and I think my flatbed scanner wouldn't work well so I hope maybe someone can help based on the description.

"Harvest of friendship" recently sold on ebay for $51. It's a set of about 15, with a fireplace and a lot of different wreaths, stockings, candles, and other fireplace decorations. I've seen a few cards here on SCS, and it makes a real cute card.
Another similar one is Heart and Home. It has a door with several wreaths and door decorations. It's also real cute, but not as expensive.

WOW I have Coast to Coast, but not willing to part with it. Didn't realize it was going for so much.

I have Paper dolls and I had Snow Globe, but I gave that to a friend who started stamping (this was a while ago, bummer) and I think I have Silent Night at the scrapbook store I go to for her to sell. I put a few things up there and she said she would try to sell them for me. (the stamp sets are retired and there is some scrapbooking stuff too.)

However I have been looking for Winter is Calling. I had it once and loved it, but a "friend" really liked it so I sold it to her and now she isn't using it. I offered to buy it back, but she refused. And I am bummed. I wonder if I asked her again if she would consider it now. Anyway that is a really hard set to find too.
