Default A question for SU demos...

If you do a monthly card club of any sort and your clients order, do they have to wait til the next monthly club meeting to get their order? Or do you make sure they get what they ordered in a timely way?

As a member of a SU club we usually get our order at the next club meeting. Sometimes if we need it sooner we'll go and pick it up, but usually the next month.

As a demo - I don't have clubs yet, but if I did, I'd want to deliver it asap. Partly because I don't want to store it, lose it, or be tempted to use it (:p) but more importantly, if someone is shopping through you, it seems like good customer service to get it to them faster than a month later (unless everyone agrees to that going into it).

Personally I feel that I should be able to have my order as soon as it comes in but that doesn't usually happen. I have to ask to have it. I always offer to come and get it to make it the least possible fuss for my demo as I can. But somehow I just feel guilty for wanting to have it earlier than the next club meeting (there was never any discussion on having to wait to get our orders at the following club meeting). There are a lot more issues than just this so I think I'm going to drop out of the club...can I change demos if I do that? I don't want to disparage this person in any way-it's just not a fit for me.

Talk to your demo about it. Maybe she thinks everyone is ok with waiting until the next month, and if she knows you're eager to get it, she can work it out with you even if she doesn't with everyone else. She may be ok with you dropping out of the club if she has people in waiting but not enough to fill a new club - depends on how the club commitment may be set up.

I give my customers their orders as soon as they come in. It's the way I'd like to be treated if I were a customer. You can certainly change demos any time you like.

In any party plan, it is usually the hostess that delivers the orders. A club is a little different, since the hostess does not necessarily know all the participants. And the demo might use up all her small commission on gas and class project expenses. As the demo, I will deliver to any people that are close to me as I am out and about. Any far away people know to stop by the house. I have a box on my front porch if I will not be home. And a few just want to wait until the next meeting. Using the new hostess code is also an option. I set up one for each month - that way you don't need to wait at all. It will ship right to your house if you don't mind paying the $6.95 minimum shipping. If you have a big order that month, or want something quickly, that is a great option.

In our club, we mostly wait till the next month or we go to the demo's house to pick them up.

I do not live close to the demo's house, so mostly I'm stuck with waiting a month.

In a way it kinda irritates me since I paid outrageous shipping on my order (even when combined with the club).

When I was a club member, I waited to the next month to get my order, partly due to distance. Now that I'm a demo and my ladies live relatively close, I offer to deliver to them or they can choose to pick it up at the next club meeting which is at another club members home. I agree with scmagnolia. It's the way I'd like to be treated as a customer.

I deliver when the order comes in since I live in a small town (around 15,000) and none of my customers are too far away from me.

I email my customers as soon as their club orders come in. Most of them live near me, so they just stop by when it's convenient and pick their orders up. Others I deliver.

I started out being a club member and I was exactly like you are now. I always wanted my order yesterday and I couldn't wait to pick up my stuff. Definitely talk to your demonstrator. You sound like a future demo to me.

When I first started SU, my demo had a basket set up in her husband's office, and organized our orders, stapled sacks shut, and put each individual name on it. You could run by and pick up the order, or wait until the next club meeting. It seemed to work for us.

I am not a demo but belong to a stamp club. We get our stuff as soon as our demo gets it and gets it unpacked. It always takes about a 1 1/2 weeks. I always call her on the day I expect it will be there. Yes, I get excited about getting my stuff! She has brought it to church sometimes for us that go to the same church. Some people wait to pick theirs up at the next meeting which I personally don't understand. I couldn't wait that long! LOL

When I was in an SU club, it was with an out of state rep. She mailed my items as soon as she could after they arrived.

When I was in an amuse club, which had a monthly meeting for you to come make cards, you could go pick it up when it was in, or wait til next month. I did both depending on what kind of mood I was in.

In my CTMH club, my rep will drop them off for the locals, or I sometimes go pick it up when she holds crops.

For me, it doesn't really matter how or when (within reason) I get my order. I'm not usually in a rush for anything. But I think it's totally reasonable to expect that the default plan would be orders be distributed ASAP when they get in, unless you're told otherwise.
