Default Question about wood blocks when unmounting.

What do you ladies do with all those wood blocks when you unmount? I hate the thought of just tossing them in the trash. I would really like to recycle or donate them to a worthy charity. Please give me some ideas.

Last week, the clerk at the LSS told me that she has another customer who is using the blocks to make a pathway in her garden (I have a lot--but the pathway wouldn't go very far)..... generally I just throw the blocks out, but this weekend I bagged them up to drop off at the scrapping shop to pass along for pathway

I hate to toss them also. Couldn't find any takers for them until I offered them to my grandson to 'haul them in his trucks.' He's 7 and loves playing with his trucks so it worked for me.

I threw out blocks with stickers and foam on them. Never-used blocks go very quickly if you offer them in the BST forums here. I generally just ask for postage costs.

You can make your own applicator blocks for alcohol inks/ regular inks, by adding hook & loop tape to some smaller blocks, for felt or cut & dry foam, etc.
To lcj, u/m stamps take up a lot less storage space than stamps on wooden blocks. Once you have a lot of stamps, the storage can be a problem.

I put mine in the recycling bin. We did burn some in our campfires since they are hardwood and they burn forever. I wouldn't burn them in a fireplace since they are treated. I tried giving them away locally, but no one showed up to pick them up when they said they would. I even had people ask for my to send them to them, but they didn't want to pay for the shipping. I won't even buy mounted stamps I have to pay shipping for - I certainly wasn't going to pay to ship them to get rid of them... some people, sheesh!
