Default question about tumble tile coasters

When making these coasters, I noticed that when I run my tissue through my printer it looks good. However, when I modge podge the tile, then lay the tissue on top,......it still looks good after I press the tissue down.....however, when I add another layer of modge podge to the the tile ontop of the tissue, my image is not as clear. What I want to know is, can I skip the step of putting a layer of modge podge on top of the tissue (just modge podge the tile, the lay the tissue on top) and just spray it with an acrylic finish? Just wondering if anyone else has this problem.
thanks

I've never done the tiles with tissue paper so I can't help, but wanted to comment that it sounds very interesting. Anyone have any samples to share?

I use vellum paper through the printer. You have to be patient and give it plenty of time to dry. Once I put the first coat of modge podge on the tile, I let it dry overnight. Then put the top coat on the next day. I am making a whole bunch for christmas presents for family.

Just a guess....that the "up side" of the tissue is the side that the image is printed on....maybe your ink is running a little from the modge podge.....you could try using a fixative on the tissue paper piece (both sides wouldn't hurt) and let it dry really good before putting the piece onto the coaster with the modge podge....
This is COMPLETELY A GUESS!!! I could be WAY wrong as I have not done this technique before
