Hello, I am interested in ordering the Stampin' Up! Top Note Bigz Die and noticed that in the online SU catalog it references a regular price of $24.39 and a "preferred price" of $21.95. What makes someone eligible for the preferred price? Sorry, I have not ordered from SU in several years, have never placed an online order with them, and I do not know a demo who I can ask this question directly.
Also, for those who have the Top Note die, do you use it enough to justify the expense? I am trying to decide between the Top Note die and the Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels One set, which seems similar, but I have seen so many cute projects with the Top Note so I am having trouble deciding! ;)
Preferred price is what you pay when you order through a demonstrator. Find a local demo on the main SU website and then contact her and/or use her website for online ordering. You can use any demo's website for online ordering, not just one close to you. And if your order totals over a certain amount you still get "hostess benefits" even if you don't host a workshop.
Their Top Note die is one of my favorites, although it's just the one size. With Nestabilities you get a variety of sizes. I'm hoping SU offers more sizes of the Top Note in future catalogs.
The preferred price of $21.95 is if you order it through a SU demo. I don't have the Top Note Die, so I can't help you with that, but someone else here will know more about that than I do.
Cindy answered your question about online ordering. I just waned to say that I really love the Tope Note die. It is one of my favorite and most used dies.
I liked the Top Note until I got the Storybook cartridge for my Circut. It has it on there and you can play with the sizes. I have not used the die again since I bought that cartridge.
Another thing that hasn't been mentioned here is that your shipping charge will vary depending on how you place your order. After you find a demo so that you can get the prefered price, you should find out what her website address is. Go to her website first and place the order through there. Your shipping with be cheaper. If you go straight to the SU store and then log in and enter your demo's information, they will charge you more for shipping. It think it is $6.95 vs $8.50, but I am not sure I remember the exact amounts.
I think I have used Top Note way more than any other die. besides using them on cards, I have made little bags for Valentine' candy, Thanks giving favors, place name cards, bag toppers - I just love this die!!
I saw you on the craft fair thread, I just wanted to mention to you that one of my biggest sellers at the craft fair that I did last year was a set of bags with toppers tht people could assemble themselves. I cut out the top note, stamped on it, folded it in half and then applied double sided tape (un-peeled) on the inside. That way the person who bought the "kit" could fill the bags with what they wanted, peel the tape and adhere it to the bag. I hope this picture explains what I'm talking about.
