OK I admit, I bought into this latest craze, but I'm having trouble alining my words. I also was wondering what you are all using for adhesive. I think I'm more frustrated than excited with the whole thing. ANY tips or help would be much appreciated. I just bought the xyron 150 hoping that would help, but now need an adhesive eraser..Argh.... Please HELP!! TIA
You may want to try run your paper through your Xyron prior to using your die cut machine. I haven't tried yet, but that's what other reccommend. I tried running my letters through the Xyron post cutting, and had adhesive all over the place.
I use the *ruler* trick to align letter stickers, but I'm sure it would work for the die-cuts once you've put adhesive on the back. You stick the very bottom of your letters along the top edge of a ruler. Once they are lined up straight (easier to realign when you've only stuck down a small portion of each letter), put the top of the letters where you want them and "roll" them off the ruler...

If you use the xyron, outline the letter or shape with your stylus before you remove the film on the top of the letter. It will help push the "extra" onto the backing and not let it stay dangling away on the letter to mess up your page.
I just checked JoAnn's, it is called a Zig 2 way pen, squeeze and roll, it is a very fine tip.
I just bought that pen the other day at AC Moore- it is AWESOME! It's like a ball point pen and you press the tip lighter or harder to get more or less glue so it's great for small pieces. I will definatly always have one around!

Here's my advice on adhering die cut letters:
-I use a Xyron 150, I don't send the paper through before I cut it because I am too stingy.
-When the letters come out, I run a brayer over them before removing the clear plastic on top. When I remove the clear plastic, I fold it over on itself , adhesive to adhesive. I then use this plastic to tap up any lefover smears of glue sticking out around my letters. I also use this after I have applied my letters to my paper to again catch any glue bits. Oddly enough, this throw-away plastic picks up the adhesive better than an adhesive eraser, at least for me.
-if I must line letters up, which I try to avoid as I get impatient, I user the ruler method. The advantage is that the ruler already has convenient marks that help to get everything evenly spaced
-Be patient, you will get better with practice. I wasn't using my letters much because I would get frustrated, but then I talked myself out of that and forced myself to practice. After all, I had put money into it, I'd better use it!
Pearlie, i really like the brayer idea. Thanks for taking the time to type out all these great tips. I'm going to have to practice, as it's not as easy as it looked for me. I'm feeling die cut challenged!!! LOL
