Yes. the majority of demos have to pay their own way. Only those significantly higher in the management hierarchy get their convention registration paid for, some at the top of the hierarchy can get their rooms paid for. The convention fee was $275 for demos and $400 for guests + airfare +hotel+transportation+meals, etc.

So does the $275 cover the classes or is that also extra?
The $275 covers the entire convention...tours, classes, etc. (Except Memento Mall of course!). Considering the goodies that are included, it's a steal, lol! If it weren't for that pesky airfare and room cost...darn it!
not a biggie but wasn't it $280?? We got 3 stamp sets, a new catty (bound), a pen, 2 pins, the tote bag, make and take supplies...and then if you are lucky you can win another set or some other supplies if they call your bracelet color. It also includes 3 large boxed lunches...and today cupcakes!
Hmmm. $275 plus lodging and airfare. I wouldn't need to pay for DH as a guest if he didn't participate in SU activities, right? He wants to golf, lol. Start saving now and it may be possible. Anyone want to babysit 3 little boys for 4 days??

This may be a stupid question - but will there be official information on all these changes/announcements on the SU website when convention is over? This is my 4th year as a demo and I've never gone to convention because I'm a hobby demo and I couldn't swing the $$$. But this year I feel TOTALLY out of it with all the new stuff being announced.
are all the catalogues coil bound or only the ones who went to convention...
kim a.
Only the convention goers, at least in my experience. I didn't go this year but our convention catalogs have been coil bound since I think 2004 - don't quote me on the exact year though...

Yup, there will be a flurry of updates... sometimes SU starts posting them during convention, sometimes they wait until after.
For those of you who were wondering -
I paid $275 for fee
$323 for airfare from Syracuse,NY
$220ish for 1 night alone, and the rest shared with 1 to 3 others. For hotels.
Food- I've spent around $100.
Souveniers - I've spent $100 (For Memento Mall and Tonic Sol Fa CD's)
So yes, $1000 is right on target........and it is worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY.

There's some on the SU site now.

Hanging out with your stampin' girlfriends for 4 days... PRICELESS. ;)
Do we know if it will be held in Utah again next year? I know it has been other places. Thanks!
Yes. They said 2 years ago that other than last year, due to construction at the Salt Palace, they intend to have convention in SLC for the foreseeable future.
