I can't believe I'm doing it. But, it's been a good 3 years since I've touched most of this stuff. I can't bring myself to give away the cardstock, but I have people coming over to get my Cuttlebug, my favorite guillotine paper trimmer of years gone by, and to look at my stamps and other stuff. (sigh) We're moving soon and I didn't want to move this haul. I've moved it all twice. It's actually not the moving it that's the problem. It's the finding a place for it once we get there.
I think I'll learn to crochet next.
Yarn may be lighter, but that takes up space too. I've got a big yarn stash next to the cardstock.
hee hee glad I'm not the only one!
Erin, Have Fun purging...I'm sure it will give you peace. Your in my thoughts and prayers with your move. It makes me a little ill to my stomach to think about "if" I had to move again. Oh, Smileys Yarns online has some good deals. And the Crochet Crowd youtube channel has excellent tutorials for even lefty's! If you get into knitting check out Staci's VeryPink Knits youtube channel. Hugs to you...

Believe me, yarn takes up just as much, if not more, room! I've been knitting and crocheting for about 40 years and I've had some of my stash for a good 25 years...
I did this. I sold a portion of it and then ran out of time. Looked around at some amazing folks I know and poof! out it went. the folks that received my stuff paid me back with very generous gift cards for the shops, like movie theater, etc., in my new neighborhood.
I've since bought a lot of stuff, but have about 20% of what I used to have. It is too much and I'll be selling some of it in the new year.
However, sometimes the best way to move on is to MOVE ON! Good luck with the move.

I did the same as Joan - sold some, gave away A LOT! I - also like Joan - still have too much and am gradually filling a "purge" box for after the holidays. It's very freeing. Not just from the standpoint of space, but you can actually CHOOSE something to use, because there's not so much "clutter" in your physical space or your head! Best of everything to you in your pared-down paradigm and move
Erin, I am in this exact position. We're moving in a few weeks. I have 5 huge apple boxes full of stuff that I just do not want to deal with in my new house. I know if I take it with me it will end up being taking so much time to sort when I really need to be organizing the stuff I still use and other parts of the home.
I have purged quite a lot on two occasions. I am just about to the point where I have less than five or so rubber stamp sets left...after having sold more than three hundred sets at one time!
I am hoping to purge again in January. I have decided to sell off my entire collection of Stampin Up inkpads and reinkers. They take up a LOT of space at my work station, and I haven't used them in about a year now. I found that I'm doing just fine with little ink cubes, and they're a cinch to store. Last summer, I sold all of the SU markers at a garage sale.
It's also time to sell off all my SU cardstock that I've been holding onto for too many years. I just don't use the lightweight stuff anymore, and I was only grabbing this for my son's occasional school project.
Next up, still too many designer papers and WAY too much ribbon.
I'm becoming much smarter when it comes to craft purchases. I only buy dies if they will accomplish something that my fussy cutting cannot do. I only buy clear photopolymer stamp sets. And lately, I only buy from my favorite five or six stamp companies.
After typing this out, I'm now excited for the next round of purging!

stamper who lost ALL in a house fire
I recently met a gal on another blog who recently lost everything in a house fire.
She is a cardmaker. I am preparing a box of goodies to gift her.
Being safe after a house fire is the upmost priority, with that said, I can't imagine losing everything and having to start over.
If anyone would like to help out this gal please email me at [email protected] and put house fire in subject line and I will gladly forward you her address.....................we can make a difference!!!
