OK, I just ordered the Just Rite Stamping kit and I wanted to ask you all what you use to punch out the stamped image. I know that some of you use Nestabilities and I've read that others use the CM cutting system. I don't really want to buy the Nestabilities set and I would rather punch than cut (thus I'd rather not use the CM cutting system). I'm looking at Joann's online and it looks like the Marvy Uchida Mega/Jumbo punches come in circle and scallop. Have any of you used these with the Just Rite stamper? If so, could you please tell me which ones you have and if you like them? I'm thinking that I'd like to punch out the image with a circle and mat that on a slightly larger scallop. Thanks!
I received my JustRite stuff yesterday and am wanting to get the punches to go with it ASAP. I would really love to know if anyone has used the Marvy Uchida punches with the monogram kit. I am looking at the Jumbo (blue)circle punch (1 & 7/8 - 2 inches) and the Mega (pink) circle scallop punch (1 & 1/2 - 2 & 3/4). Joann's carries the Marvy punches so I'm looking at getting those in particular unless someone suggests otherwise. Can anyone tell me if they have used these punches with the JustRite 1 & 5/8 stamper? Thanks!
I just started making our family Christmas cards using the JustRite 1 5/8 inch stamper. I used the jumbo Marvy punch to punch out the tag and then layered a circle cut with a smaller punch (it's orange...can't remember exactly which manufacturer) on top of it. They work fine. I have "Happy Holidays - The McMullin Family" on the outer rim and a cute mini snowman on the inner punch. (the snowman is just a regular stamp - not part of the JustRite family).
The Marvy punch is just a smidge too large IMHO...but it works fine. If you want your outer edge of the JustRite stamp to hug the edge of the punch, you would probably need to use Nesties or a Coluzzle. However, I think a punch is much easier to use and mass produce.

Thank you Christine. So, you have the Marvy Mega (pink) scalloped circle? I am trying to picture what you have described.
oops - I missed the part where you mentioned the scalloped punch. No, I just have the blue (jumbo) circle punch - which works well, but not absolutely perfectly for punching out the entire stamped area for the 1 5/8 inch JustRite stamp. I also used an orange EK Success punch that is about an inch in diameter to punch out a smaller circle that I used inside the outer ring of the JustRite stamp. Sorry...I don't have a picture I could post at the moment.
I think the pink scalloped punch would layer nicely under all of this.
I've used the EK Circle Scissor, but it's kind of a pain. I ruined a lot of stamps trying to cut them out. I really should do some internet shopping and find that McGill punch, I think that's the winner. It would be nice if JustRite would stock it. I love it when companies stock complimentary products.

Between the two of them I have every circle size out there, plus I can lay the template over any part of a piece of paper - even right in the center of 12x12 DP over just the right part of a pattern and cut away. They are by far the most versatile circle tools out there. AND... it costs about the same as one size circle punch. Lots of SU demo's use them in their blog video demo's, so they are definitely still "in style", LOL! Just a thought.

I have quite a few coluzzle templates, but especially on rounded shapes, I can never quite remove the tabs smoothly. I like that the circle scissor cuts a perfect circle. I don't like that you have to basically have a full sheet of paper going to make it work. And once you cut a bunch of circles from that full sheet, it gets too flimsy to work anymore.
I have the SU 1 3/4 circle punch, and it fits the main image very well. Then, I use the pink (next to largest size) Marvy Scalloped punch. The SU scalloped is too small with the large SU circle punch. Here are two cards made with them:
