I love mine. I bought it about 3 weeks ago. It really is silent. You have three hole cutters and three eyelet setters and you just push down on the handle. I would imagine it would be difficult if you have arthritis but my friend has carpel tunnel problems in both wrists and she finds hers easy to use.
I also love the case that it comes in. It makes it so portable.

Do you still have to punch the holes first and then set the eyelet, or is it all one step?

Default provo craft silent setter-who has it? do you like it?

I have one and I don't care for it. It works on the small eyelets that come with the setter plus other small eyelets. It does NOT work on larger eyelets. I have a large variety purchased from ebay and other places. Its a great idea but doesn't really work..... I also tried the Better Setter www.noxontolls.com at a scrapbook expo workshop and was not impressed with that either. I would love to find something that doesn't wake up my family!!!

Hope this helped

I love mine too!!! The tables I work on are not "solid" and I could never do eyelets on it. I always had to sit on the kitchen floor and do it. And now I can do it right on my table with no problems! The other thing I really like about it is that when I set my shaped eyelets, they actually keep their shape now. My flowers used to look like circles when I was finished with them and now they look like flowers!!!!!!!

Wouldn't it be too cool if Stampin Up could get their hands on this and the case would say Stampin Up on it? Yes, I am a Stampin Up freak!!!!!

It does work on the Stampin Up larger eyelets. I used it on a couple of the shapes this weekend! Worked absolutely wonderful.

Now, the setter will not work on ALL eyelets. The eyelets have to be made of a soft metal (like Stampin Ups). It will not work on Making Memories eyelets or harder ones like those!

Gosh, I guess I'm the only one that isn't strong enough..... my girlfriend tried it too and we only had success with small eyelets. I'd like to know what brand eyelets the rest of you are using. Maybe thats my problem....
Thanks!!!

I have it and LOVE it. I have been able to set just about every eyelet tried, even the Making Memories brand. The only thing I had a hard time setting was rivets.

I'm waiting for mine. I ordered it last night. I'm excited to try it out. I'm "eyelet challenged" doing them with the hammer and setter. Even getting down on the floor my eyelets get all bent.

LOVE IT....hands down! It does work on SU eyelets (aluminum) very well. I have been told it does not work on harder metal eyelets like MM....but I have not tried it for myself!

I HIGHLY recommend it....one of my best overall purchases!

I have not tried the smaller eyelets, but I have a setter that is from the sewing section (Walmart carries it) that you squeeze the eyelet and it sets it. I use a hole punch for the right size hole and then squeeze the big eyelet shut. I think it is really for making belts. But it works great for large eyelets. I have not purchased SU's big eyelets to try that out yet.

On the back of the silent setter the first sentence reads --works best on alluminum eyelets. MM is starting to make them but the old ones are metal.
Good luck in your purchase

I just got mine not too long ago and I LOVE IT! I have tried it with the eyelets that came with it, Makin' Memories eyelets, and SU! Eyelets. It worked great with all 3 and even on the large eyelets!

For those that could set eyelets with the MM ones must have the strength of Popeye! I can set the MM ones but it is more challenging than the softer ones. I wish I knew about the softer eyelets before I stocked up on all those MM eyelets! I've been trying to swap some of my eyelets for brads and softer eyelets but no one seems interested. When the Silent Setter DOES work, I really do like it. It works on the Bazzill eyelets also.

I am contemplating purchasing this too but wonder how it compares to Clikit. Does anyone know which one is better?

I love mine! I've used it mostly with the MM eyelets. It just takes a little more muscle to set them. Now I don't have to get down on the floor to hammer them or go out to the garage late at night.

I have a friend who has what I think is the Click It. It keeps coming apart on her so she has reverted back to the hammer.

I just bought mine TODAY! A new Joann's Superstore opened up in Algonquin and I got 40% off!

We used it at card club this month for the center of flowers... I really liked it.

As for the kinds of eyelets it can do, I bought some Joann brand eyelets... so I'll let you know if I have sucess there!

I love mine. Do you have a Michaels or other craft store near? You could use a coupon. I purchased mine at Roberts Craft with a 40% off coupon and it only cost me 10.79.

I bought my setter about 3 months ago, and I don't know how I ever lived without it! Not only is it so quiet that I don't bother anyone, but I also have a medical condition where using a hammer causes much pain. This is so very easy for me!!
Keep in mind that you really need to use aluminum eyelets, brass ones are very hard and don't work very well.
Have fun!

I just received and email from SuperScrapbooks.com. The silent setter is on sale there now for 13.99. I can't make up my mind if I want this one or the ReadySet. I used the ReadySet at at my LSS and liked it. Has anyone tried both of these to give me an opinion on which one is best?
