I've never had a problem with ink not drying. I've tried other papers, and haven't found anything I like better. I'll be interested to see what others have to say.

Talk to your demo about your problems and she can speak with SU about it. If you are a demo call DS and report what's happening for you.

There were a couple of bad batches of whisper white that got out. I had trouble myself, very embarrassing! But the paper I have gotten lately has been perfectly fine, no issues.

I'm with Happy Heart, I find that Su Whisper White is Superb to any other paper that I've tried.

When i first started stamping I used cheap white paper cause it was cheaper, but I soon learnt that the ink looks more vibrant on SU.

It's the only paper I will use now. --I'm not a demo, just a Happy SU Stamper.--

I don't have a problem with it not drying...its just not thick enough for me. The last order I got was very flimsy. I will only buy from my local stamp store now...its twice as thick.

I agree. I LOVE WW paper, but all SU paper can vary from batch to batch, it's weird. I've had some not "tough enough" for me!! Odd! But nothing is perfect. Definitely bring up your issue and see what they say!

I love WW because it's so smooth but I do wish it was thicker. It's not good as the base of the card.

Maybe it is not the paper to blame but the red ink. I have had this happen with the real red ink before but none of the other colors. For some reason, my real red ink pad is very wet compared to some of my other ink pads. Since I know this color does this, when I use it, immediately I know to keep my hands away from it to avoid smearing and I simply blow on it a sec to help it dry. I would never give up on SU's whisper white paper because of this - as someone else stated it is far more superior with color vibrancy than other white cardstock.

I don't know....I just felt it and its nice and heavy to use as a base. Its bright white. And I only pay 10 cent a sheet!! I'm going back next Tues. , I will ask him for some info. There was a site up the other day about paper and someone recommended Strathmore Bristol Smooth from Michaels. They said it was in the artist section and came in a pad with a yellow cover. Said it was nice and heavy for a base. I just haven't had time to check it out.I make a lot of single layer cards and I like to have a heavy weight cardstock .

I had the same problem when I used the black and the artichoke inks. I found myself having to heat set every time. Then because the paper is not heavy it curled due to the heat. I have just had to remember that if I am going to use black ink or artichoke to use my GP cardstock. I can use the WW for all other inks though.

I disagree.

I've been a steady SU customer for over 4 years. I appreciate hearing both the good and the bad about the company and its products. I think SU's products are extremely good overall. But no company is absolutely perfect all the time and if there's a mistake or a problem, the company's representatives should be open and admit it to their customers.

Having this discussion here in the GS forum has given me a heads-up in case I run into a problem with my own Whisper White cardstock. I haven't noticed anything unusual yet. I'm sorry that some of my fellow SCSers have had unsatisfactory results with theirs.

I just got my first pack of WW cardstock (I know, for shame) and I like it for the most part. I was hoping that it would be a bit sturdier....and the ink does take a while to dry on it...especially colors. I haven't had any problems with the black drying in a snap!

Thanks for posting this tho....I will take this and be careful with stamping with colors on it from now on to avoid smearing! ;)

I am a demo and have had problems with my WW cs for the last couple of orders. But I just got a replacement pack and the ink is drying like it should and not smearing. Looks like the problem has been fixed.

My upline had this same problem. She reported it to DS and they said there was nothing wrong. A couple of days later, they got back in touch with her an said there WAS a problem with the paper and they were working to correct it. She just received replacement packs and said they are fine.

I use Georgia Pacific 110lb white cardstock that you can get at Walmart. Nice and smooth and I get perfect impressions using Versafine ink on it.

150 sheets cost $4.95 in my area.

I've tried dozens of kinds of white and off white paper, including the Georgia Pacific. IMHO, the only paper that is as nice as crisp and smooth as SU's whisper white and vanilla is Beckett's Expressions #80. In fact, it may be the same paper. I have an order from Marcos Paper waiting at my home as we speak and I'm curious whether it smears. There was a problem with SU's paper smearing this summer but everyone I talk to (customers, demos) are reporting that the problem has been resolved.

On the other hand, I find myself using plain white and vanilla less and less. I really love the SU Naturals and Confetti lines. and watercolor papers from a variety of sources. More interesting.

Ditto! I try to explain this to other people including my own demo that the cheaper stuff is just not as good unless you are not stamping and only using for layering.

Don't agree here. I use Georgia Pacific all the time for stamping, always have for years. I have never, ever had any problems with GP.

I like SU's white better than any others that I've tried. The only problem with it is that dark, bright colors(real red, brilliant blue, glorious green) don't dry very fast. I don't like those colors anyway so I don't have the problem of smearing, because I don't use them

This is why I love SCS -- everyone has different preferences, likes, loves, hates, etc. There is no correct answer to this or any other issue that involves a matter of taste. I have a friend who swears by the Georgia Pacific and thinks SU's is too smooth and too bright. It is nice to get different opinions!

I am on my second pack ot the GP cardstock. I am hooked! It seems fine as a base to me, but my card fronts tend to be simple, not too much heavy stuff.

I haven't bought a pack of ww yet. I'm still a corner cutter and like my big pack for $5 from wal-mart. I agree that it is interesting to hear everyone's opinions. It gives me something to think about when making my next paper purchase. TFS.
God bless,

There has been a problem with the WW paper. Remember that SU doesn't make it's own paper, and they won't know there is a problem unless customers and demonstrators speak up. If you are a demo, call and have it exchanged. If you are a customer, ask your demo to have it exchanged for you.

There has been a problem. Usually WW dries almost instantly with classic ink. It's supposed to. If yours isn't, have it exchanged.

As much as I love SU paper, I am a Georgia Pacific girl myself. It's so cheap and easily available that I don't hesitate to use it ... unlike my SU stuff that I tend to hoard ;-)

Mamakimberly (I believe) once did a sample of SU's Whisper white compared to Georgia Pacific where she stamped the same detailed stamp on both and it was overwhelming obvious to almost all of us the SU's CS was the best image. This was a thread on here a couple of years ago, any intrepid explorer care to try to dig it up?

In any case, I use the cheaper CS for my kids but I much prefer SU's any day! I think you must have a bad batch, the only ink that dries slowly for me is brilliant blue, but it dries slowly on every CS!

Other demos and other customers have done the same test and could not tell the difference. It is presumed that maybe the quality is not consistent from region to region. I have done the test over and over and you just cannot, even with a magnifying glass, tell any difference at all between the 2.
