Default Prismacolor vs Stampin Up Watercolors

How are the Prismacolor vs the Stampin Up watercolor pencils? I've been happy with the SU performance but the color selection is SO limited! I've seen lots on SCS about the regular Prismacolor pencils so I know folks are thrilled with them, are the watercolor pencils just as good?

I have the prismacolor watercolor pencils and really like them. They color and blend beautifully. I have not tried any SU watercolors so I cant compare them but I dont think you'll regret trying the prismacolors.

I have both and much prefer the Prismacolor pencils. The SU ones are fine, but the color selection is limited, and they don't blend as nicely as the Prismacolor. Now I love to color and use the Gamsol technique, and I've found Prismacolor works much better than anything else I've tried. And with Vikings prices you just can't go wrong! (I have very little talent for watercoloring, so I can't give you a comparison there.)

Hope this helps!

I saw the prisma color pencils and markers on sale at Aaron bros. for half price. This runs until June 5. I think viking might be a little cheaper but if you have to have them "right now" it is an alternative. Good luck!

Prismacolor items are artist grade/quality products - I remember when you could only buy them in art supply stores - so you should be happy with their performance. If you want SU watercolors, which are fabulous (I have a feeling they may be prismacolor but I don't know) you might wait until the new catty comes out, there has been a RUMOR that there MAY be a set of 48 in it. Just FYI.
