Default Prismacolor pencils 120 - which one? Premier or Classic

Hi everyone,
I'm thinking of getting the prismacolor pencils but I'm confused as to which one I should get? I know that I definitely want the 120 box, but on ebay, they are selling the "Premier" (which is newer) and the "Classic" (which I guess is older). Both are unopened, so I'm confused as to which one would be better to get. Does the Classic one have a lot of discontinued colors? Which one has more of the colors that are on the list that Diane (Fionna51) made that matches the SU! colors?

Is there a difference between the two?

Thanks,
Christine

If I am understanding your question correct the classic box has these neon colors in them. Very bright, very unnecessary. The Premier have replaced these colors and are more useable. I can't help with the list that Diane made. I would think that the Premier would be the one you want.

You might want to check out Prismacolor.com They make a few varieties of colored pencils. Some are water soluble. Others are not. The differences are not just in the color choices.

I would go with the Premiere. I have them and they have the colors that Fionna51 listed in her chart (that match the SU colors). There is also a set of 12 (also Premiere) now being sold that match some of the more "earthy" tones.

I thought the "premiere" set of twelve that's now available were the 12 new colors - so if you purchased the "classic" set of 120 + the "premiere" set of 12, you would have everything.

I know someone mentioned one of the colors that was retired is the best match for Barely Banana - Deco Yellow, maybe? Maybe the thing to do would be get the colors and then try to buy just that one individual pencil somewhere.
