Default Printing digital images

What kind of printers and papers do you use?

My printers got paper jam all the time....
(I use Distress Ink and ProMarkers for coloring.)

I have an older Hewlett Packard printer which feeds the paper from the bottom. I used to always get paper jams when I put cardstock in. I think when the paper loops around like that it just doesn't like thick paper. What helped a lot for me is setting the print quality at Fast Normal. I usually use Neenah 80 lb cardstock for open line images that I'd be coloring with Copics and this feeds through very well set at Fast Normal. And it saves on ink, too.

I have a Canon MP250. I use Georgia Pacific 110 cardstock for my digi images. When I print out an image I only use one sheet at a time. That way my paper doesn't jam in the machine.

For printing digital images colored with Copics, my current favorite is 80# Hammermill Color Copy Cover. There's a matching 100# HCCC for the card base.

Although X-Press It Blending Card feeds fine through my printer, I haven't found a match for card bases. XpedX stores stock HCCC in three cover weights, and it's much less expensive than the X-Press It.

I use the "Best" print quality setting.

You'll probably find that its different for each person answering. I have a Canon MP560 and I use either Wausau Exact Index 110# or 80# or Domtar Cougar 130#. Both go through my machine fine from the back feed slot and I print on low quality fast print so that it uses the everyday black (dye ink) instead of the photo black ink (pigment ink). I usually only colour with either Copics or pencils crayons & oms.

That's so true.

cat_woman and I discovered on another thread that my HP printer is the opposite of her Canon. My normal black ink smears, but the "Photo" ink cartridge works great for both Copics and blended Prismacolor pencils.
