Gmcneal, I am afraid once I start collecting these it will be competly out of hand very quickly. I have several of the Tim Holtz binders and thought they may fit in there. Has anyone come up with a good way to store them all together?
Oh my this is goint to be bad! Frantic Stamper is an awesome site, there goes my craft allowance for the next couple of months! on the other hand I already have the storage I plan to us for them. I am going to use a Tim Holtz binder for them and all their accessories.
I read this thread earlier and have a full cart at Frantic Stamper, waiting for me to make up my other mind about completing the transaction. I also went to Julie Nutting's blog and spent about an hour there...can I be her when I grow up? Anyway - thanks for enabling me to have one more thing to covet/collect!
The dresses/clothing on the dolls are fun with paper piecing. I have to have eyes and mouths at the very least on faces so I discovered that I can use the DeNami petite four face that has the smiling eyelashes and lips on the Prima doll with the crown and short strapless dress. I used makers so I could color the lips bright pink and the eyelashes black. I'm paper piecing the dress using DP that has a pink background with brown/black leopard spots and I'm coloring her shoes and the bow on the dress to match her lips. I'm making Quince Anos cards for From Our Hearts for the troops to send home. I think I can hold myself to just one doll since I only have this one specific idea in mind for using the doll. But...one of the new ones Julie is showing on her blog is really cute that she dressed up in a beachy look...Shay...it says she's a city girl but the pink striped top and the hat made me think beach.

How are you all stamping the large Prima dolls from Julie Nutting? Do you ink the stamp and press the paper onto the stamp? I don't have any acrylic blocks large enough to do otherwise. Please help. Thanks!

You can use one of the clear plates from your Cuttlebug or Big Shot as an "acrylic block", or the Fiskars Stamp Press works, as well...
I just saw these stamps at one of our LSS. I don't usually care for dolls but these I like. Julie will be teaching at our LSS in July - I'm thinking of taking the class if I can get in.

I smiled to see this! I remember how many people have said (quite vocally, some of them) that they didn't like the Magnolias with no faces, so I've been interested to see how few people, so far, have commented on that with the Prima dolls.

My thought is that the Magnolia's have "half a face" - they have eyes, just no mouth, which makes them look "defective" or something (at least, to those who don't like them) and the proportions are more exaggerated. The Primas don't have any features at all, and the proportions are correct, so they fall more into the "impressionist/artsy" realm. Apparently it's an "all or nothing" kind of dealie-o...
I have bought out 8 of my stamps from the site below. She ships them out that day, if they are in stock and not a pre-order item.
I just keep mine on the plastic that they were mounted on and stamp that way. I saw this technique on you tube, when I first got the stamps and was looking for ways to use. them.
I love the stamps without faces. But then again I was into the Amish cross-stitched pictures years ago and I love Magnolia stamps. These stamps would look funny to me with faces. Just like the Prima doll stamps would!
