Please pray for Julie's husband Brian. He is in Arkansas Heart Hospital and possibly has a blockage that will need attention. He is around 30ish, so very young for this type health problems.
Some of you may remember Julie (known as JJBrooks on SCS). She is a former SU Demo from the Texas area. She and her husband recently moved to Arkansas for him to serve as a youth minister.
I am organist at their new church here and everybody really loves them! They are doing an outstanding job with the young people. My husband and I moved to this same church a year ago - right before Julie and Brian came, so we are newbies together! Julie and I have just discovered our mutual interest in SU through our Christmas card to them! She recognized it as SU and we hope to do some things together soon!
They are the sweetest young couple and have three beautiful boys. I just hate to see them going through this stressful time. I am praying for his speedy recovery. Please keep them in your prayers.
If you would like to send a card, pm me for the address or just send it through the church office at:
First Baptist Church 701 Main Street Crossett, AR 71635
I had the pleasure of meeting Julie in October of 2005! I would have to say she is one of THE nicest people I have had the pleasure of meeting!
I will keep her entire family in my thoughts.
Please keep us updated if you can.
Emily - I'm not sure this is totally correct - you know how things are passed down - but I understood that he had an appointment with a heart doc for sometime soon, but had to go this weekend as an emergency. I do not know EXACTLY what happened, but I will keep everyone posted as best as I can through word from the church secretary. I called this morning and she did not have his room # yet. She had been told that he is having a heart cath today, then may be moving him to Baptist Hospital soon.

I don't know her, either but I just prayed for them. My husband is also a Baptist minister (was once a youth min.) so I feel a bond with her. I will certainly keep praying for them!

I will be calling the church office about 10 a.m. Tues. and will come back on with an update.
Thank you all - I will let Julie know about this thread too. She will want to read all your kind words for herself I'm sure.
I'm so glad I posted. I just knew some of you would know her and would want to hear about this. They are so precious - everyone in Crossett loves them.
afancycat - If you hear an update from Julie's Mom, let us know. All my info is through the church office.
I am praying that Julie's husband gets through this ok and for strength and comfort for Julie and boys. Thanks for making all aware of this. Prayer is powerful.
I Just called the church office and Brian is doing better! He is coming home in a couple of hours.
They did an arteriogram this morning and it is NOT his heart! Wonderful news, but now they want to find out what caused this episode - but at least he is good to go for now!
Thank you for all your prayers on their behalf.
If you still would like to send a card, I know it would be appreciated.
OH I am so so happy to hear it! I really wanted to call Julie but didn't want to pester her if she was busy taking care of her husband. I'll give her a call tomorrow and update you if she hasn't done that herself.

Hello everyone! Thank you soooo much for your prayers and kind words.
Brian is doing better. The Dr. was amazed that when he went in to do the surgery Brian's heart looked perfect. The Dr. said after he saw Brian's stress test (that showed three areas of the heart that blood was not flowing right) and his abnormal EKG that he really belived he would find blockage. We are praising God right now that everything is clear. Brian's dad has heart disease and his Grandfather died from a heart attack. We are trusting God that he healed Brian's heart.
We are however going to go have his gallbladder checked. The Dr. said that your gallbladder can make you think you are having a heart attack. Brian was having chest pains again last night so we are ready to get to the bottom of this.
Whatever the turn out we believe in God's mighty power and we believe that he is the great I AM.
We thank you from the bottom of our heart for your prayers. The SCS family is like no other. It is amazing that some of us don't even know each other, but we are so moved to pray for each other because of a common bond we all share.
Thank you from The Brooks Family!
