While the teapots aren't pretty, they aren't ugly, I have to keep voting for the original ugly card and that would be the shear rawness of the tinfoil rose, how it literally exploded onto my screen when I clicked the link. I will not get over the experience soon.
I had the teapots at number 4, behind Bluebear, Stargirl and Joan B's card.
Joan, sorry to say, DS (15) was watching with me (and laughing) and when he saw your post and card, he said (while rolling around on the floor) that "an hour was too long!" LOL

Man, I am getting votes for my "teapots". I don't know if I should be proud or crawl under the table. In my defense, I just received the teapot set that day, had a bad headach and was determined to make a card with the set. Just want to let you know I did not send it to anyone, I did throw it out. I just did not remove it from my gallery. But I will remove it soon!LOL
Thanks for the votes!
It's not that the teapots themselves are so bad just the layout. And I agree, you have beautiful cards so it's okay to have an occasional not so great. :-)
My disclaimer on the second card is that the colors were chosen by DH who is normally very good with colors. I'm not sure what happened here... ;)
Let's talk about the wax paper coin bag... Now I've been at work all day discussing Frederick Douglas and Great Gatsby with teenangers, so perhaps I'm a tad fried, but this card makes me wrinkle my forehead in consternation. I think I'm going to have to get some Botox shots. Please tell us what you were thinking, who it is for and all the rest of the inconceivable details that must be behind a card like that!! BTW, it doesn't really qualify as ugly, it's more confusing that anything else!!
This card isn't so ugly, but the stamp creeps me out. It's just a little off or something. I'm weird that way tho. Stamps that other people think are cute kind of creep me out, especially cartoon kids. Lest you think I hate kids, I'm a mom, I have three of them. They almost never creep me out as much as that stamp does!
Well since some of you think that this card looked Creepy I have removed it from the Gallery.
You should have waited for the "contest" to end. You could have been in the running along with my "wonderful" teapots, the tin foil rose ,oh and I can't remember the other on. Got to go look it up. When this ends, then I will "delet" that baby. I all ready threw the card away, so the only evidence is still in my gallery! We are having some fun here. You quit to soon!LOL:p

Whoa there, jeanstamping2, are you offended? Please don't be-this is all in good fun. I would never intentionally hurt someone's feelings, remember, I posted my ugly card first! And, people have widely varying tastes in stamps, so because I don't like the cartoon kid type stamp is no reason to delete a card from your gallery. I hope that I mistook your post, and that you were playing also.:???:

We're smiling now, right?
Well I quess I didn't know what this thread was totally about. So maybe I'll up load it again.
Everyone is intitled to their own opinion about what they like and don't like.
Today is not a good day for me... I feel Yucky.
Yes my card wasn't the best card I have ever done. but I thought it was cute.
jeanstamping2
I hope you are smiling. No hurt feelings. I actually thought the kids were cute.

bluebear
stargirl
joan b
and me
If I am wrong someone please be kind and correct me
Thanks

I know there are about 8 pages here, but...take a look at the cards posted and read some of the comments. It is all in fun. Do Not take anything at heart. You totally have to look at the cards that stargirl, bluebear and joan b posted oh and mine too! Sit back and have a SMILE!:p

Well Leslie.... your teapots get my vote too! Stargirls original card, my tin foil rose and Joan B's headache card were my top three - but I am voting for you!
Now who wants the tin foil rose? Should we do a mail chain - pay it forward kind of thing? Stargirl I think you get first dibs on it!
That sounds good to me. I was also thinking, which is dangerous I admit, about taking our fun and games and making something even better out of them. There are A LOT of posts in this thread, could we auction off the top four or so and give the money to some agreed upon person/group/charity? Or we could do a raffle one dollar=one ticket. That way one person would not be spending a lot of money. Even if we all only gave a dollar or two it would be a tidy sum.
Now keep in mind that I'm the girl who likes to invite everyone over for a fancy dinner party and then nearly has a nervous breakdown in the preparations for said party. I do tend to get myself in over my head. It's just that this thread has given us all a few laughs, and that's worth something in my book.
What do you think? I won't be even remotely offended if this idea doesn't appeal-I'll probably be relieved! We'd probably have to have a mod collect the dough, I don't know, it may be too much trouble.

I think I have enough supplies to "remake" the teapot card. Could be interesting!

Hey, do you know what I should be doing instead of chatting? I need to make some cards! my stamp club is not meeting this month. So...I am inviting some freinds over to stamp. I am playing demo. I am doing the cards to demo for my friends. After seeing those "teapots" You are saying yeh, right you are good luck. But I think My stamping has been getting better. Oh, by the way one of my friends that is coming over to stamp is my demo!

I too should be doing some swaps that I need to get out, But since I feel bad today I am not going to.
This one might qualify if others weren't so much uglier, but your little girls are cute and don't belong on this thread. It's a neat BG technique too. TFS

he he, yes, it does have issues... as far as what i was thinking? well... i wanted a see through bag and i didn't have any vellum... and I was trying to use up some non-SU! flimsy cardstock... and i have a horrible time taking photos without shaking and was too lazy to turn on the scanner (yes, it is the photo that is blurry, not the stamping)...and i was new at this whole "background stamp" thing... oh so many issues for this poor card! Luckily, no one had the "joy" of receiving this one and experiencing the furrowed brow that you have ;)
I think we have a new contender with stampaholic2004s "colorful" card.
As far how to finish up this contest...do we need a formal panel of impartial judges? Everyone who enters pays a fee of $1 or $2 with proceeds going to a charity (maybe breast cancer awareness since that is coming up, but all suggestions are welcome).
Do we need rules, such as not intentionally trying to make an ugly card (which I have done in the past as a joke), but submit only cards made with the intention of creating art or craft or whatever it is we do.
I think Stargirl should take the lead since she started all this which has kept us all so entertained. Maybe the winner gets to keep all the entries!

You are ringing my bell here lady! I'll pm you tomorrow.
I have really enjoyed this thread - still chuckling at "possessed by Mrs Grossman"!!!! I think Bluebear, Joan B and Stargirl are the winners for me - they are the ones that actually made me recoil from the screen ;). Can you shortlist all the entries to 10 and run a poll?

Ok, so I'm bored at work and just doing a quick SCS "check in" on my break when I happened upon this hilarious thread! I'm obviously a week behind the initial start of this, but I just have to tell you ladies that you have some of the best senses of humor I've ever read! I have so thoroughly enjoyed reading through and my co-workers are probably wondering why I'm laughing out loud to myself. Will a winner be posted?
This thread has been a hoot! You all are so brave to post your less-than-admirable work. I bury mine in a basket, but it's good to know that I'm not the only one who comes up with un-masterpieces!
