On my Christmas card this year I'm using a large snowflake, about 2.5". It's very detailed, and I want it popped up. On my prototype I cut adhesive foam in very small pieces and put one in the middle and two more on each of the six "arms". The pieces of foam are so small that it's hard to get them to stand up. I also tried diecutting thin foam with the die, but the foam seems to expand just a little so that it shows. I'm hoping there is an easier way to pop it up, but I can't think of any. It will be very tedious to do for 30 cards. Does anyone have a better idea? Thanks for any advice you can offer!
There is a clear silicone glue that might work. I bought some in the adhesive section of Hobby Lobby with a coupon. Not sure of the name and I'm about to go to sleep.
I die cut 3 of the die I want to pop up, then glue them together (or use Stick It Adhesive sheets that I put on the cs before die cutting). That gives them some substance and makes them appear to be popped up.

I've already die cut the snowflakes from thick nwhite fun foam. It flattens going through the big shot, but puffs back up once you take it out of the die. And you could put a piece of double sided adhesive on he back of the foam before cutting, which can then just be peeled off and the die stuck directly to the card.
Why not just cut larger size of foam like 1" square and put in the middle. You don't really need to support the "arms" of the snow flake as the larger piece in the middle will do the trick so long as you are using cardstock and not thin scrapbook paper.
I do what Susan does - I make multiple cuts and then stick them together - I usually use glossy accents, but any adhesive of your choice.
To keep the cost down a bit, I use inexpensive white (or color appropriate for your card) card stock from Michaels for the under layers and my higher quality cardstock on top. If necessary, I'll use a marker to color the edges to match my top layer so that the white doesn't look odd.
another idea...cut the snowflake into your card front and glue in the snowflake Cut some more snowflakes with the same die, glue them together stacking them over the first one that is embedded in your card front.
Thank you all for the great ideas! I will try each one after Thanksgiving (we'll be gone for six days. I've been the cook and hostess for many years, so I'm a little bit excited to be the "guest"!) I do what Susan does, it is a method I picked up from Jennifer McGuire and I use it with any die cuts that are intricate but that I need to pop up.
I cut up to five seperate images and then layer them together. I use a glue that takes a couple of minutes to stick so that there is a little bit of wriggle room and I use a pair of tweezers to make sure all dies are lined up.
Warning
1. You only need a very small amount of glue, but you do need to cover all parts you are sticking.
2. No matter what method you use it is going to be fiddly and time consuming especially for thirty cards :-D
What about cutting them from glitter fun foam or cut them from foam and use spray adhesive on them. Then add your own glitter. It's much faster than any other way of adding adhesive and glitter.
