My very small collection (10j is stored in their original SU envelopes and outer packaging, and then in a plastic shoebox standing up so I can flip through then easily. Since I don’t have many, I have dies behind the embossing folders. So many great ideas here with everyone sharing!

hmph, Evernote claims 320... ( I wonder if it counts correctly ;) ) Some of those are sets or came with Sizzix dies. so probably a few more than that. I never use the borders. I am seeing my self use my larger than A2 and 3-D ones mainly and maybe a handful are scene types I am more drawn to textures. I really like some of my original ( started with swiss dots also) sized ones on tags and small pieces rather than total background texture.

every time I think about purging them I just put the baskets back down after I flip through them, but I did sort mine not too long ago by size. and so, I am thinking if I do purge it would be something like keep an A7 chickenwire and let go of a smaller chicken wire folder type thing. maybe toss all the borders. I also no longer play with those old old Quickutz metal ones remember those? ( they were what 2" square?)

Mine are just in plastic boxes, no lids, divided by subject with cheap dividers I make. I label them and put their original package (face only) in a bag to keep if I ever re-sell. Packaging can be so much bigger than the product, keeping all of it is not doable for me. I am actually going to switch the boxes to accommodate the 6 x 6 too.

I am up to 60 now I will let go of.

And I too did let go of smaller (A2) duplicate patterns if I had a bigger one...but it also depends on scale. The bigger ones could have a bigger scale I don't like for an A2.

For some reason, this open tab popped up on my iPad this morning. From the dates, I see that it was from when my daughter was in the hospital trying hard to keep her 24 weeker inside, and I was driving a half hour to the hospital most days to keep her company and get her water (to increase the desperately low level of amniotic fluid). I probably started reading and got distracted.
Anyway, I just counted, and I have 120. Mostly Stampin Up, but a good many Cuttlebug as well. Yes, I have Swiss Dots! Also a few random ones I’ve picked up at Tuesday Morning or online. I’m glad this made me look. I’m thinking I’ll pull some out and emboss a bunch to have on hand!

By the way, she had little Eli at 28 weeks 3 days. (Crazy how they keep track these days.) He weighed 2 pounds 6 ounces, but got just below 2 pounds before his weight started going up. He spent 52 days in the NICU, and is now 9 months (6 months adjusted) weighing over 15 pounds! We are thankful that he never had any lung issues; probably because she had two beta shots at 24 weeks, when they thought birth was imminent, and then another shot when she went into labor at 28 weeks.

I counted 61 folders. I had just purged a stack of mine, and most or all of those were regular folders.
Most of what I have now are 3D.

That's what I've been doing with my whole craft room. I'm in the process of moving from one room to another, so when I find things that I just don't use anymore I put them a bag to take to a family who homeschools. The kids love it!

I recently (last couple of weeks) went through mine, but didn't count them. I did send some to a new home, and then decided it had been quite a while since I used any of them. So one of the things I told myself was if you are keeping them, you need to use them. So I have now a bunch of card front sized embossed panels. Then I started inking them with various colors and inks. I have a tons of card fronts now with only about 1/2 of them inked. I should have plenty of cards ready for whatever occasion!

What's the difference, standing up in a box? or standing up in a folder? LOL I have 30, "standing up in a box." ;)

In my Krafts Inventory app, there are 371 listed. The vast majority are stored in just one ArtBin super satchel. Small (2"x2") are stored in an ArtBin mini-satchel. Large/square/3D folders are stored in a Stamp-n-Storage 6"x6" wooden drawer. SU mini embossing folders are right at my hand in a Longaberger desktop basket. EFs in each storage unit are in alphabetical order.
My OCD makes me inventory ALL craft supplies in the app before I'm allowed to play with new items. So it might take me10 minutes a month to update my inventory lists. All EFs have their name on a label for easy retrieval. I also took the time many years ago to set up a 3-ring notebook that has business card page protectors. There are sections labeled--overall, frame, border, asymmetrical. I cut solid cardstock in different colors to 2"x3-1/2" and emboss/label each sample--then file in the appropriate category. Very easy then to look through this notebook, find my desired folder, and pull from its storage place.

I have 30. I'm not so into the 3D since I have an Empress and I get spotty results. The ones I have I love, especially Swiss dots, 2 of waves and a SU one called Square Lattice.

I have probably too many but when I find them on sale, it's hard to pass them up. I have gotten rid of some of the ones I don't use as often or the original ones that "duplicate" a 3D one.

I store mine in on end alphabetically with the name on a strong Post-it tab on the hinge end. Then I also have A2 sized samples that are stored more by category. I'll admit that I"m a bit behind on making those samples.

{coughs} 312 {coughs}
A2, 6x6, A7, A9 and some little single shapes and strips/borders.
My newest ones have been the Spellbinders A9's and if I see a 6x6 I don't have, I'm probably buying it.
So far, I've managed to fit them all in 3 sewing pattern boxes, but if I keep collecting them I'll need a 4th box.

A Little Birdie Told Me How many embossing folders do I have?

Well.... more than 50 mostly background still buying I like the 3D but only have a few of those.
I am looking for the Taylored Expressions chicken wire embossing folder however not hopeful as it is retired!
I use colormylife for keeping track of my crafty items- stamps, inks, etc.

I saw this thread in the Spring and enjoyed reading all the responses but was too chicken to count my own. Well, had a glass of wine in preparation. I guessed low 100s, my husband guessed 200. Turns out it's somewhere in between -- I have 142

Probably about 1/4 have never been used, so I need to fix that aspect!

The majority are flowers and/or trees. Several 3D ones and am just now collecting the larger format ones i.e. 5x7.

Just did a rough count and I have close to 30. However, that doesn't count the huge purge I did before the holidays--I donated a whole boxful to my local 'craft thrift' that benefits school art programs.

Me too! I still have it although my daughter now has my Cuttlebug and many of the smaller EFs. I wanted a bigger mouth machine for the bigger folders to fit through. Now I wish I could find Swiss Dots in a larger folder. Have purchased several thinking they were the one, but they are not!

Hmm. I rewrote my last post, as it didn't show up for so long. Thought maybe I had hit the wrong key, or something.

I am wondering if I counted the slimlines when I did my total. Different box. Hmm. Not a lot of those though.

I use my label maker to put on the name and the sandwich if not standard so I don't have to experiment as I wont remember.

For 3ds I like Lisa Horton's. Scrapbook.com has them. Lovely florals. Simon also made some nice ones.

I think we all love them-so many cool looks and they are one of the cheaper things to get esp on sale with non 3ds. Darice can be like 2 bucks in clearance bins.
