Two of my SU craft pads (Night of Navy and Always Artichoke) are really juicy. They leak into the lid when I'm not using them, and when I open them its a real mess. They are so juicy that the ink pools up in spots on the stamps, and even when I stamp off a couple of times I can't get an even image. I think the lids may be warped because when I close the lids the ink pad scrapes across the edge of the lid making more of a mess. The other thing about Always Artichoke is that the ink is really dark, almost black, and doesn't seem to match the other things I have that color. Do you think these pads are defective?
I accidently ordered the craft spots in the Earth Element family and wow....the goo...I think I will stick with Classic Ink! Anyway...I just left mine open on my desk for a couple hours and that seemed to clear the excess goo problem right up! Good luck!
One other thing, the way SU cases are is designed for the pad to sit upside down. With my craft pads, I have to turn them over so they are upside down, so that the pad is sitting upright. Helps the ink not all come to the top of the pad.

I'm sure this is a given, but it is also of the utmost importance to do a light "kissing" motion to ink up a stamp on a craft pad - I know with the classic I will really smoosh it into the pad, twist it, whatever, but you can't do that with the craft pads! A very light touch is a good thing.
