I've used it...it's a so-so product I think. I mean, if your pad needs more ink, then this stuff isn't gonna do enough. If it's just kind of dried out, the refresher will add the moisture back into the ink that's still there. Make sense? So, yes, it does work, as long as you don't expect miracles...
I just use it on dye ink pads though, even though it says its ok touse on pigment (what SU refers to as "Craft"). DON"T suggest using it on versamark though...
sunnywl - if you search the forum for Perfect Ink Refresher, you'll find another thread about this. It was just on the current conversations this past week & they talked about it quite a bit.
Betsy I have been reading up on this around the web (I google'd it ) and it keeps saying it will rehydrate your pad. I guess if you need more ink then you need to reink (I had seen it presented here as an alternative to reinking-maybe I was reading to much into it :? ) but it does not seem to be the case.
I think if I did not have the newer SU pads where the pad is stired upside down it may be a better investment. I do know that I lose a lot of ink if I do not keep the strings carefully trimmed. I have been a lot more cautious when it comes to my pads having loose strings and have noticed a big change in how long my SU pads are lasting

There was a thread on here last week about versamark. Someone said all you need to do is go the a drug store and get a bottle of glycerin for a couple dollars. Cheaper than the versamark refill and the same thing.
I went to a very fancy and technically oriented L Stamping Store last week and was poking around in the the inks. Asked the owner if she had refresher, and she said she felt it didn't work so she didn't carry it.
The other LSS I visit occassionally carries it, so I was surprised to get such a strong statement out of the store owner.

I've been wondering about this also and thinking that if it was safe and advisable to use on ink pads then SU would sell it. I think before I put anything on my SU ink pads that I would ask SU. Does anyone who's a demo know what SU says about this?
I feel fairly confident Su would advise using a re-inker , if for no other reason than they would not want to assume the liability of saying someone else's product would perform well...
Bree-ta, you are right. If a pad has been used a lot, or allowed to bleed off through the threads, then it needs INK, not just "hydration." Actually, the reason I had gotten the stuff when it first came out was because I was losing my Night of Navy pad  aacck!!! Sadly, the refresher only helped a little...certainly it was not a decent substitute for re-inking or, hey, what the heck, buying a new pad.
Like many cooking substitutes, it might get you by, but usually with less satisfying results than using the ingredients that are called for.
Darn, I was hoping it would refresh my spectrum pad but the Ranger Inks info says it's not recommended for them. I thought I might try a couple anyhow but the cost of shipping was $7.85 on the Jade Designs site for two bottles (they cost $5 each) so I decided not to!!

I hadn't even thought of that, great tip. Thanks Queen Snarky.
i found the perfect ink refresher at ac moore. have not looked for it elsewhere, since i now have it. have not tested it yet, however. but appreciate all the comments about its effectiveness. i DO now have the ink refills for the soft subtles group. since they are pretty pale colors anyway and need all the help they can get  and also for some of the paler shades in the other families (bordering blue, going grey, etc.).
