Yes, I do know that Ravioli Girl was very active on this thread, and I am thinking she is the one who started it all. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong. I've thought of Bugga recently also.
and then when it all went kablooey I opened up the 10 pif and 15...and then we had to go through the rules etc...lol...and we were all democratic about it...lol
and then the small thread and bigger threads and now they are all gone except the completely free pif thread..

I was actually the one who started the original PIF thread. Missing all of our stampers who are no longer with us. They contributed so much.
Thanks for being the one who started it all! I've been a forum member for years but only discovered the PIF thread in the past couple of years. It's been a great way to make a few new online friends along the way, which was especially valuable during the whole COVID shut down.
I've been vaccinated fully now, but still being careful.

I am moving all my Prima Watercolor Confections half-pans to one large palette and wonder if anyone can use the original small ones. There are eight total. All are in excellent condition and would be great for creating small palettes of your favorite colors for yourself, or maybe a gift palette for a friend or someone showing an interest in watercolor. You can request one, or more, if you wish. A picture is attached. I will, of course, pay the postage.
Thank you,
Some have been spoken for (hoptownracer1) Four will be available for shipping Monday, April 12

Hope everyone is doing well! Sorry I haven't been here; fighting a head cold, so I've gotten behind on things at home.

I don't remember anything "going kablooey." I stepped down for personal reasons, and then it was picked up by other members.

The PIF thread started by scrapjanny did not go kablooey. It is being confused with other PIF threads that had rules and minimum values attached to them.

As this is the only PIF thread I'm acquainted with, I thank Scrapjanny for starting it, and everyone involved for keeping it going. It's a wonderful way to pass things on that we don't use anymore, but that will make someone else's projects just perfect!

As I've seen many of the same members on the PIF thread, I've come to think of them as craft buddies of a sort. I thought it would be fun to get to know more about you all. What kind of crafts are your favorites, and how did you get into stamping/crafting etc. What do you do when you're not crafting? What is your style(s), and motivation or inspiration for your crafts? Anything else you want to share?
I'll go first:
I'm a retired business owner with a psychology degree that I've never used. My husband and I ran a business for 25 years and I retired early. After we sold the business, he went back to his first love of teaching psychology and just retired from that career last year. We have two grown children, a son and daughter, who are both married. I have three grandkids (granddaughters are 10 and 7, and grandson is 2).
I've been crafting all my life, as my mother loved to paint, draw , do needlework etc. I've tried just about every craft out there but always come back to papercrafting, and especially stamping. Although I began with scrapbooking, I now make cards almost exclusively. Don't have a true style, but rather take into account the recipient, and my mood, ha!
Although we are both fully vaccinated now, and are looking forward to life getting back to normal, the COVID shut downs haven't really impacted me much at all, so I feel fortunate. I'm already a homebody who loves to hole up in my craft room, and we were able to see the grandkids and my daughter's family through most of the year because they have remained socially isolated .
Most of my cards are donated to local nursing homes and retirement communities, and before COVID shut downs I volunteered at the local Senior Center and taught card making. None of my local friends stamp or make cards, so I love to connect with others online.
My goal in 2021 (as it is every year) is to use more old stash, and stop hoarding my supplies. I've had too many paints and markers dry out, and papers go out of fashion, while I kept them for a "special project". At this point, my daughter has no desire to deal with all of my "stuff" when I'm gone, so I'm trying to use it or donate it. This thread is one wonderful way to do just that. Of course, it's also a way to accumulate even more goodies, but we won't talk about that, right?!

Thanks, Tina. It probably was being confused with some of the other threads.

Thank you, Karen. I agree. I'm glad other members were able to keep it going.
To reply to Kazeka's post. I got into scrapbooking after I got married and then also after we lost our first kitty. Posting about him was very cathartic and helped me hold onto my happy memories of our kitty. After I had to leave my job as Administrative Assistant at a Credit Union due to chronic illness, crafting became my therapy when I was able to do it. Even if I am only able to do it for a short time, it lifts my mood. It's just hubby and me and our four kitties. I used to cross-stitch, and I do know how to sew a little. Scrapbooking and card making are my faves right now. I like that I can start on something, and if I need to, just lay it down in my craft room and go back to it at a later date or time. I like the people I've gotten to meet here, and I enjoy coming here and chatting with them.
I have no link to the last thing on offer. Sorry. It is a 60 piece DCWV Tag Stack for Christmas and Winter. I think all the tags are present, but one or two have been punched out.

I plan to go through more of my excess stash in the coming week, but have to find the box that I set aside for that first. In the meantime, I am offering up these stamps. I won't be sending anything out until I list everything, so that I can mail at the same time. If you're interested in any of these, please PM me with your name and address.<br
I tried linking everythng at once, but it looks like it will only list one at a time.

Sometimes I like a product so much that, when I have duplicates, my first reaction is to hoard them. Fortunately, sanity always kicks in. A while back I was gifted the following Sweet Poppy Stainless Steel Stencils. I already had them in my stash, but didn't have the heart to mention it. They are brand new, never taken out of their packaging. I am hoping others here like them as much as I do. I will, as always, pay the shipping charges. Thank you.

Oh my gosh, I do the same thing sometimes. Isn't that nuts? I find myself thinking, "I should keep the duplicate, just in case the original one gets lost or breaks". No wonder I'm buried in stuff! None of my local friends stamp, so I can't even pass them on here. Fortunately, this PIF thread is helping me get past that duplicate-hoarding thing a bit...although I can't say that I have fewer supplies than when I started, ha!

Karen, they are yours and will be posted tomorrow. I'm in my second year of slowly working with what I have and at that time deciding whether to keep the item or pass it on. This thread has been wonderful in helping me decide, knowing the supplies would be going to a good home. Wish I had learned of it a long time ago. So far, thank goodness, I've only used it to pass items along.
I have these to offer. I wish I had gotten them up before Easter. I can only mail in the U.S. The stamp set is from a previous PIF, and I made a lovely background with it on a card, so I am ready to pass it on. And the ribbon just says "Easter Bunny" with bunnies on it. . Just let me know what you'd like and PM your address. Thank you! I'll try to find some other things to share soon.

I've decided that my goal this year is not necessarily to have fewer supplies but to thin the herd to only those supplies that I'll actually use. It's taken me several years but I now have a better idea of what I will and won't use.
I don't have any local stamping friends either. A guy my son works with enjoys playing with crafty stuff so I boxed up my supplies and asked him to come get whatever he wanted. He took it all and shared his newfound "wealth" with his sister and his girlfriend's kids. It was a win-win for all. Parting with stuff hurts so much less when you know someone else will get use out of it.
