About to place an order and want to throw in some buttons..before I DO, can someone tell me approx how many you get per bag? I know it says between 50-150, but that's BIG difference. Also, is the variety in each bag pretty nice? I would be splitting the bag with a friend..Thanks!

I've found that their estimate is way low. The bag that I counted the last time this came up had over 300 buttons!
I didn't count mine, but there are lots. And a good variety also. I can't resist these now that I've received them. I always buy them now with my paper purchases.
One thing I noticed while playing around last night, is that my bad had a lot of really tiny buttons. I'm not complaining, just want to make you aware since you are planning to share, in case you were hoping for a ton of big ones. I didn't count mine, but I would guess my bag had well over 150 as well.
Another person who hasn't counted .... but there are a LOT of buttons
I've gotten some colors with a higher number of large buttons, and in some there are a lot more small... so the size can vary although there has been a good mix most of the time.
I have found that there is usually a variety of standard, more plain buttons ~~ but some are very unusual and really special.
We like to give that range because sometimes we get batches that have lots of big buttons (hence, fewer in a bag due to space issues), and other times it is a lot of small buttons. Each bag is unique, and always a good deal!

I ordered a bag of Rustic Wood and just got smallish buttons, nothing fancy and they all seem sorta the same. I would have liked a few that were bigger than what I received. Mine are all about dime sized, I would guess.
My bag of vintage white/cream had a huge amount of buttons but most were very small with 4 holes like you'd find on a white shirt; I was then in a button share and got a really nice assortment of each of the colors that were included. Love them!

Oh - I forgot to mention that ... yes, the Rustic Wood buttons are all the same size!! Surprised me when I saw it but I still really like them.
The other colored buttons not only are different sizes and styles but the finish varies -- smooth, matte, textures, and slightly different shades, too.
This may not seem too helpful but the answer is maybe  .
If you check out the photos on the site you'll see that there's some variation in color. I certainly have used some with SU cardstock and they were close enough.
Frankly, a lot of them aren't really exact matches to the PTI cardstock/ribbon.
The rustic buttons should have come in two sizes, according to the website. I got almost the same number of big and small rustic buttons in mine. I was a little disappointed with some colors I purchased as they were mostly huge buttons (1 in in diameter or bigger). But I think PTI has resolved this issue now. I love their color-coordinated hues. I found that they are very similar to many SU colors.
I haven't bought PTI's neutral colors (brown, black, white and cream) because I found that I can purchase them somewhere else cheaper. I bought a bag of neutrals from Michael's that has over 500 buttons for less than $5 (-40% off coupon, too). I think the brand is called Bag 'o buttons.

I ordered the New Leaf and Scarlet Jewel buttons and had 75 buttons in each baggie. I will say that about 15 of my New Leaf buttons were damaged. I must have gotten a bum lot. No sweat. The Scarlet Jewel buttons are absolutely gorgeous!

Me, too, they seemed either huge or really tiny (I've only ordered one bag, though). Also quite a few of them don't have holes but have that thingy on the back instead (which I should probably know the name of), which makes them hard to attach to cards.

Actually, many of my PTI buttons do have writing on them. I got a really cute little one that said Cherokee Baby that would be perfect on a baby card. I would say probably 1/4 of my buttons have some type of brand name on them.
I have lots of PTI buttons, having joined a button share by Krystie Lee. There is quite a variety of size and type from color to color. For me, it was awesome...sort of like a surprise present I paid for myself.
If you're looking for a specific size or type, however, PTI may not be the place to buy from. I have a few colors of SEI buttons that are very uniform. Personally, I prefer PTIs. They have more character, KWIM?
are the buttons supposed to be "vintage" like? If so, why would they have writing on them?
I believe that they buy huge batches of buttons from manufacturers and have them dyed to coordinate with their colors. So it's pretty much they take what they get to keep costs down as much as possible. And many clothing companies put their name on their buttons.
I am hoping to pick some up at CHA on Sat!! My prob is I want ALL of the colors!! hee, hee...

Please keep in mind that although some of the buttons do have writing on them, it's very easy just to turn them over if you don't care to have it show. ;)

The note on the buttons at release stated that there were only 2 sizes in the rustic pack. Not sure if it says that on the website though. I will have to check.
Most of my bag had larger buttons and a beautiful assortment of textures. I love what I received but was a little disappointed to find they really don't match the coordinating paper. The difference is very noticeable Also, I couldn't find two alike to use on the wheels of the button bits bicycle stamp.
