UPDATE: here's the response I got to my email:
Dear Ms. M,
We have been informed that a large batch of the October 2008 issue is delayed due to a processing problem and will be mailed in the next 7-10 business days. Thank you for your patience.
Thank you for subscribing to PAPER CRAFTS.
I found it interesting that even my local library had their copy today . . . I guess they are "subscribers," too . . . just a different category?? The time for stamping Halloween will be over by the time it arrives. Hope there is some Fall in there, too.

I was told the same thing, almost word for word, when I called yesterday.

Did anybody get their Papercraft magazine yet for October? I saw them in the store but mine has not been delivered yet. Do they come later in the mail than in the stores?
I didn't read through this whole thread, but I am a bit disappointed with subscribing to Papercrafts Magazine. When I subscribed this past spring, I received a couple issues and haven't received any other issues since one early summer. I realize they are not sent out every month, but I believe I only received 2 issues and then they stopped coming.
I plan to write to the magazine, but haven't gotten around to it yet. This is the second time I subscribed and had the same situation. I think I am cheaper off buying the magazines (or better yet, going to my local library) that I really want at my grocery store rather than paying for a subscription where all issues don't get delivered. :(
Papercrafts Magazine is fabulous--they have a good reputation and the staff is wonderful.
I am sure the lack of mailings is the result of an uncontrollable circumstance and they will get it remedied as soon as possible. I have forwarded this thread to a staff member.
Cammie, I agree that it is a fabulous magazine, but when I pay for a subscription and don't receive issues, there must be some problem somewhere. With so many complaints, and no more October issues being printed, I am really disappointed that I am not going to get this issue. I work for an ad agency and cannot understand what type of Uncontrollable circumstance would keep a magazine from publishing enough issues for their subscribers. Their only remedy is to extend my subscription for an extra month, but that does not give me the October issue. Halloween is my very favorite time of year to make paper crafts, but now I am out of luck.
Was this the halloween issue? I'm from UK and I received this... looking forward to the Christmas one.. not sure when its due out :(
tried to get on the site, but my pc is playing up.

I'm so disappointed to hear that there are subscription problems with this magazine, I've had problems with Cards and was going to get this one instead when this subscription ends. As an international subscriber I'm used to waiting longer, but this sounds too bad. Any other recommendations for other mags? Thanks
I let my subscription of 3 years go when it expired back in March. I have never received the magazine before it hit store shelves. It was usually the 3rd week of the month before I had mine.

Thanks for letting us know what they said. I've been wondering where my copy was (here in VA) so I'm glad I'm not alone in this wait.

Yeah, but this has been going on for YEARS, really!!!
Wow, I'm in Florida and my best friend is in Michigan and neither of us has received our October issue! I called today and was told that if I don't receive it by tomorrow to call back and they will either extend my subscription by a month or rush ship the October issue "if" it's still in stock! I am very disappointed and upset by this because I have been a loyal subscriber for 4 years! I'm sorry to hear that so many of you are having the same problem.
I haven't seen mine either. I just called Papercrafts and asked if they show if mine has been sent out yet and he said he'd add an extra issue to my subscription, but didn't answer my question. When I repeated it, he said that it shows that it was sent out and that I should have received it already. So, basically, he was of no help. I called again and asked to speak with a supervisor. I was told that there is not one available to talk to me. WOW!! The CS rep said that she would request that they send me a copy of the Oct issue, but it would take approx. 6 weeks to get it here!
As far as the mags hitting the newsstands before subscribers' mailboxes, she *assured* me that ALL mags are now hitting newsstands first, not just theirs. All I have to say is that it's a good thing I like their magazine so much!
Anyway, just wanted to share what I was told by PaperCrafts. HTH
I think this is ridiculous that it hit news stands before coming to your home. I will cancel my subscription and buy off the stands if this is true.
I guess I will have to call them as they did not respond to my email.
I am not a happy camper.

I saw the October 2008 issue in a LSS a little over two weeks ago. I waited for my subscription to arrive but when it didn't arrive this past Saturday, I sent an e-mail to Paper Crafts. This morning I got a reply that they would send one out to me and I should expect it in 2 -3 weeks. Fortunately, mine arrived in the U.S. mail this morning and I sent another e-mail to them to cancel the duplicate mailing. So, maybe there's hope that you all will receive yours soon!
Now, I'll be watching for the November/December 2008 issue. Did the ladies who have already received these have a card that appeared in that issue? I know some mags will send out early copies to people who have submissions in a particular issue.
I finally got my October issue today. I think that all of us subscribers should get their issues before the stores. We are their "sure thing". They already have our money!
I emailed Papercrafts last night, and here is the response I received today:
"We apologize that you did not receive the Oct 08 issue. We are sending you a replacement copy. You should receive it in 2-3 weeks. Thank you for subscribing to PAPER CRAFTS."

I didn't have a card in it AND was really surprised to get the Nov/Dec 08 one so early. STILL don't have my October one!! Got told that my subscription will be extended 1 issue.
I just received my Oct issue in the mail today. I had called last week and was told they were out and would extend my subscription by one month. I went out immediately and was lucky to find it on the shelves still so I bought it. It figures, now I have 2. Oh well, its better than none. Just wish there wasn't so much confusion over this month's issue. I can be patient as long as I know its coming.

I got my magazine today.... but the nov/dec! No october! Anyone who got the Christmas one, do you know if we will get the October one? I emailed but no response yet!
Ok just got it yesterday. Really though if the new policy is to get it after the stores, I won't renew subscription.

Okay, DH just called and mine came today! I'm assuming it's the October issue (although DH didn't bother to look at the cover, only the name PaperCrafts). He calls and says, hey that magazine you've been upset about came today! Any way, hopefully it's October but it's a darn shame that we've had to wait soooo long.
Carospoon you got to love a hubby that looks out for your Papercraft magazine!!!!!!!!!!!! Does he have a brother? lol

This issue comes up periodically in another hobby I'm involved in. Sometimes the situation has to do with the shipping method/delivery company. Bulk magazine orders do not have high delivery priority in the postal system. It may or may not be the magazine's fault. I didn't re-subscribe to several magazines for that reason- it drove me nuts when it was on the news stand and I didn't have my subscription yet!
